Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow is open to any peace initiative and expects the same from Kiev.
According to world media, this is the first time President Putin has proposed bilateral negotiations with Ukraine in many years. Since the first weeks after Moscow launched its military campaign in February 2022, Russia and Ukraine have not had direct negotiations.
On the Ukrainian side, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kiev supports the proposal to end attacks on civilian targets and is ready for any form of discussion to achieve that.
Talks are scheduled for this week in London. Ukraine said it would send a delegation to meet officials from the US and European countries.
