Welcoming President Vladimir Putin and the high-ranking delegation of the Russian Federation at the airport were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung and members of the Party Central Committee: Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Vietnam Sub-Committee in the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation Tran Hong Ha; Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh.
Also welcoming President Vladimir Putin and the high-ranking delegation of the Russian Federation at the airport were Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko, leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies and Hanoi city.

Although the plane landed past midnight, many domestic and international reporters were present at the airport to capture the first images of the State visit to Vietnam by President Vladimir Putin and the high-ranking delegation of the Russian Federation.
According to the program, at noon on June 20, President To Lam will preside over the ceremony to welcome President Vladimir Putin according to state protocol at the Presidential Palace.
