(CLO) Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said she spoke with US President-elect Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron about last month's parliamentary elections in Georgia, which she and the opposition accused of being rigged.
Ms. Zourabichvili was in Paris for the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral, and wrote on X: "Had in-depth discussions with Presidents Trump and Macron. Exposed the stolen election...".

The October election handed victory to the ruling Georgian Dream party. The government then announced it was suspending efforts to join the European Union, sparking weeks of protests in Georgia.
Although a largely ceremonial figure, Ms. Zourabichvili has been involved in leading anti-government protests, and she and the opposition accuse Georgia Dream of becoming increasingly anti-Western and pro-Russian.
The ruling Georgian Dream party denies allegations of election fraud and says the protests are fueled by Western interference.
Meanwhile, Russia has rejected "baseless" accusations of interference in Georgia, comparing the events there to the 2014 Maidan Revolution in Ukraine, which led to the overthrow of the government and the current situation.
