President of the Republic of Mozambique successfully concludes official visit to Vietnam

Vietnamese leaders believe that the visit will create new momentum, promote and further deepen the solidarity, cooperation and good traditional friendship between the two countries.

On the evening of September 10, President of the Republic of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi and his wife, along with a high-ranking delegation of Mozambique, left Hanoi, successfully concluding an official visit to Vietnam from September 8-10, at the invitation of General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife.

Seeing off the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh; Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Pham Hoang Kim; and a number of officials from the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During his visit to Vietnam, President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi laid a wreath and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs (Bac Son Street, Ba Dinh, Hanoi).

President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi attended the official welcoming ceremony, held talks, witnessed the signing of cooperation documents between the two countries and hosted a reception with General Secretary and President To Lam. The President also met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

During the talks and meetings, Vietnamese leaders warmly welcomed President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi and the high-ranking delegation of Mozambique to their official visit to Vietnam; believing that the visit will create new momentum, promote and further deepen the fine traditional solidarity, cooperation and friendship that has been inherited, nurtured and continuously developed by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm and respectful reception that General Secretary and President To Lam, the State and people of Vietnam had given to the delegation, the President of Mozambique expressed his pleasure in returning to visit Vietnam in his new position and was deeply impressed by the strong development as well as the prestige and position in the international arena that Vietnam has achieved under the wise leadership of the Communist Party.

On this occasion, President Filipe Nyusi once again sent his deep condolences from the State and people of Mozambique on the passing of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - a great friend of the people of Mozambique, and expressed solidarity and sympathy with the people of Vietnam as they have just experienced Typhoon Yagi.

In a friendly and open atmosphere, the leaders of the two countries informed each other about the situation in each country and had a comprehensive and in-depth exchange of specific directions and measures to further enhance the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation in the coming time.

On this occasion, the leaders of the two countries witnessed the signing ceremony of two cooperation documents including: Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mozambique on cooperation in the field of energy and minerals and Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the Ministry of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries of Mozambique.

During the visit, the President of Mozambique visited and worked with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) along with a number of other important activities.
