Summary of the implementation of the Project "Propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, period 2019

On the afternoon of March 26, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to review the implementation of the Project "Propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, period 2019 - 2023". Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired.

Attending the conference were Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

The conference was held in person and online with nearly 3,000 delegates from central ministries, branches and departments; delegates from Party committees and authorities of 28 coastal provinces and cities at 45 connecting points. After 5 years of implementation, the Project "Propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, period 2019-2023" has always received consensus and support from central ministries, branches, and sectors, and active and serious participation. With a high spirit and responsibility, ministries, branches, localities, and units have closely followed the goals, contents, tasks, and implementation plans of the Project, mobilized maximum resources, promoted the role of the entire political system, diversified forms, applied models, programs, and good, creative, flexible practices, suitable to the actual conditions of each locality and unit.

The Coast Guard Command - the Standing Agency implementing the Project of the Ministry of National Defense; central and local ministries, branches, and sectors; armed forces units with relevant functional agencies proactively advise on the implementation of extensive propaganda on mass media, grassroots information systems, and integration through the activities of agencies, units, and localities.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by agencies, units and localities in implementing the Project "Propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard" over the past 5 years.

Regarding the direction in the coming time, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong requested: After summarizing the Project, agencies, units and localities continue to coordinate to promote propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard nationwide; focus on propaganda and dissemination to cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and people of all walks of life in provinces and centrally-run cities with seas, functional forces of departments, ministries, branches, units and armed forces related to the sea; propagate so that countries in the world and the region understand more fully and accurately the policies and laws on management and protection of Vietnam's seas and islands in general, and the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard in particular.

Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong requested agencies and units to continue to absorb the opinions presented at this conference, from there continue to research and propose to superiors, and at the same time find measures to improve the effectiveness of coordination between agencies, organizations, localities and Army units in implementing the Project after the summary; linking the work of disseminating and educating the law, including the Law on Coast Guard with political tasks, socio-economic development, emulation movements, and campaigns in localities and Army units.

At the conference, the Ministry of National Defense awarded Certificates of Merit to 175 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Project "Propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard for the period 2019 - 2023".
