Journalist Le Quoc Minh said: “Google's news initiative has been cooperating with press agencies. This cooperation needs to be further improved. The issue I am concerned about is that Google helps protect press copyrights, preventing pages and channels from taking them back without permission. Besides, it is supporting revenue generation. Advertising with the press still plays an important role for the press but is decreasing.”
At the program, the Google representative in Southeast Asia shared: Training cooperation with Vietnamese press units to share trends and lessons in the world and in the region for readers about news searching to have a more appropriate information orientation.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, said: This cooperation is of great significance to the Vietnamese press. Through the exchange, we have made the cooperation between press agencies and Google more professional, deeper, and more focused on models and data usage.
“Google’s cooperation with a number of press agencies is very necessary. The Ministry always supports and wishes to raise the cooperation with Vietnamese press agencies and management agencies to a new level. Contributing to improving the capacity of Vietnamese press agencies and contributing to copyright protection…”, said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam.
