Attending the conference on the provincial side were comrade Nguyen Canh Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Nguyen Quoc Khanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; comrade Giap Thi Bac, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Commission; comrades leading the People's Council, People's Committee, National Assembly Delegation of the province, City Party Committee, District Party Committees of districts, cities and a number of agencies and units; and typical artists of the province.
On the side of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, there were People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association; Writer Cao Duy Son, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities.
Over the past 50 years, with the attention of the Party and the State, the province's socio -economic situation has gradually developed stably, creating a foundation for the development of culture and arts. Since the Central Resolution 5 (VIII term) on building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity was issued, Lang Son province has issued documents leadership, direction, organization and implementation. Thereby, Lang Son Literature and Arts has made strong development steps, both inheriting tradition and innovating to suit modern trends, integrating with the general cultural flow of the whole country. The Provincial Literature and Arts Association (now the Provincial Literature and Arts and Journalists Association) currently has 236 members in 6 specialized fields of literature and arts.
In recent years, in the field of creativity, the province has organized 15 prose writing competitions with over 700 entries; 62 collections of short stories, memoirs, and novels have been published; 82 collections of poetry have been published; over 500 works of art have been displayed at local and regional exhibitions; in the field of critical theory research, nearly 60 works have been published...
In the period 1975-2025, the province has nearly 70 outstanding and outstanding works of literature and art that have been awarded at the national, regional and international levels. Notably, in the campaign to create and promote literary and art works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", 51 works in the field of music and theater have been awarded at the provincial and central levels.
Regarding the work of building and developing mass culture and arts, the province currently has over 800 clubs and mass art teams organizing activities on average over 1,600 sessions/year; the Provincial Folk Song Preservation Association was established in 2010 and has maintained effective operations. Cultural diplomacy activities between Lang Son province and the Choan Autonomous Region, Guangxi, China have been carried out in many forms.
At the same time, the province always pays attention to the training, fostering and development of artists. The whole province currently has 38 artists and artisans who have been awarded noble titles by the State. The artists basically play a good role in preserving and promoting traditional cultural capital.
To develop culture and arts to meet the requirements of the new period, the province has proposed 7 groups of tasks and solutions in the coming time, including: continuing to strongly innovate thinking and leadership and direction methods for culture and arts work; improving the effectiveness and efficiency of State management, increasing resources for building and developing culture and arts; strongly promoting the development of research, theory and criticism of culture and arts; discovering, training, fostering and arranging a team of leaders, managers and consultants in the field of culture and arts with sufficient qualifications, standards, prestige and professional capacity to meet the requirements of the tasks; continuing to strengthen the organization and operation of the Provincial Association of Culture and Arts and Journalists; further promoting the role of press, publishing, media agencies and social networking platforms in the work of propagating and introducing cultural and artistic works; Promote international exchange and cooperation so that culture and arts can both maintain their identity and enhance their ability to integrate, becoming one of the pillars of foreign culture.
At the conference, delegates discussed the achievements of Lang Son literature and arts in specific fields; the role of literature and arts in preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Lang Son ethnic group; the introduction of authors and literary and artistic works; Analyze the current situation, difficulties and propose and recommend contents to build and develop Lang Son culture and arts in the coming period.
Speaking at the conference, People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, affirmed: Lang Son is the cradle of unique culture of ethnic minorities, inheriting the culture of the border region of the Fatherland. Over the past 50 years, Lang Son literature and arts have produced many works of ideological value, profound in content and rich in expression, aiming at the core values of truth, goodness and beauty. He hoped that Lang Son province would continue to pay attention to the team of artists and promote their works so that Lang Son literature and arts could develop further in the coming years.
Concluding the conference, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and commended the achievements and contributions of the province's literature and arts in the past time. To meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation, he requested relevant agencies, departments and branches of the province to continue to thoroughly grasp and raise awareness of the role of literature and arts, identify key tasks in the development of literature and arts to build a culture and arts imbued with national identity, deeply reflecting the lives and people of the locality; pay attention to grasping the thoughts and aspirations to arouse and promote the creative capacity of the artists; innovate and improve the quality of activities of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association and Journalists; strengthen cooperation and cultural exchange with provinces and cities in the country and internationally; promote socialization in the fields of literature and arts.
On this occasion, 21 individuals with outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of Lang Son culture and arts after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
