MANILA TIMES. During his visit to the Philippines, British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly met with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and held talks with his counterpart Enrique Manalo to discuss maritime security, trade and the environment.

LNTV1. During a phone call , Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and his Thai counterpart Srettha Thavisin agreed to maintain bilateral economic cooperation while creating a favorable environment for trade and investment cooperation.
THE STAR. Malaysia aims to be among the top 20 countries in the global startup ecosystem by 2030, according to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
CNA. The Africa-Singapore Business Forum (ASBF) 2023 with the theme "Driving Africa's Growth through Digital Transformation, Manufacturing and Sustainable Development" took place in Singapore from August 29-30 with the participation of more than 500 delegates from more than 40 countries, including 14 African countries.
YONHAP. The United States, Japan and South Korea launched a trilateral missile defense exercise in international waters south of the Korean Peninsula.
YONHAP. South Korea and China are discussing arrangements for a summit between President Yoon Suk-yeol and President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of a multilateral summit in early September.
CHINA DAILY. Meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing, US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo stressed the need for the two countries to strengthen coordination to address issues of global concern.
REUTERS. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva visited China from August 30 to meet with senior leaders, before going to Indonesia and India to attend ASEAN and G20 conferences.
PTI. The surface location near the South Pole of the Moon, where India's Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft made its historic landing on August 23, has been named "Shiv Shakti Point".

TASS. Russia has announced that it will continue its space exploration program despite the Luna-25 spacecraft having an accident while landing on the Moon.

EURO NEWS. Poland has filed a petition to repeal three key EU regulations in the fight against climate change, according to newly published documents from the European Commission (EC).
AFP. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited the Czech Republic, France and Spain from August 28-31 to negotiate the supply of additional weapons to Kiev.

AFP. In July alone, Ukraine's public debt increased by $4 billion, bringing the country's total national debt to an all-time high of nearly $133 billion.
REUTERS. Police in Cyprus have arrested 21 people in connection with violent clashes between migrants and residents of a western community with a large number of asylum seekers.

FOX NEWS. The US government has approved the sale to Japan of air-to-ground missiles and related equipment worth a total of about $104 million.
REUTERS. The trial of former President Donald Trump on charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election results will take place on March 4, 2024, US federal judge Tanya Chutkan announced.
AP. The US Department of Transportation fined American Airlines $4.1 million for violating aviation safety regulations by leaving thousands of passengers on planes parked on the runway for hours.
CNN. Forecasters say Hurricane Idalia is expected to intensify and become extremely dangerous before it makes landfall in the US state of Florida.
CBC. The Communications Security Bureau - Canada's cybersecurity agency warns that organized cybercrime will threaten national security and economic growth in the next two years.
RIO NEWS. Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed a law raising the minimum wage for workers to 1,320 reais ($269.7) - the base level for adjusting the minimum wage based on inflation and economic growth from 2024.

AHRAM. Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, arrived in Egypt on his first trip abroad since fighting broke out in April.

EGYPT NEWS. Egypt is committed to supporting the UN's role in resolving the crisis in Yemen , Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry affirmed when meeting with UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg in Cairo.
REUTERS. Benin President Patrice Talon will visit China from August 31 to September 3.
