Every year, the total annual crop planting area of ​​Thai Nguyen province reaches over 108,000 hectares, of which the area of ​​grain crops accounts for 75.6%, vegetables account for about 14%, the rest is the area for planting crops such as beans, peas, flowers, ornamental plants, sweet potatoes, peanuts, soybeans, etc.

Regarding grain crops, the annual planting area reaches over 82,000 hectares, with food output reaching over 425,000 tons. Specifically, the whole province cultivates 67,000 hectares of rice per year, with paddy output reaching over 354,000 tons; and cultivates 15,000 hectares of corn per year, with output reaching over 71,000 tons.

The province has maintained a stable area and invested in intensive cultivation to increase productivity and quality of food crops. Over the past 10 years, Thai Nguyen has not only ensured food security but also created commercial rice and corn products, contributing to increasing people's income.

In addition, among the annual crops, vegetables have been produced stably in the province. On average, each year, the whole province grows about 15,000 hectares of vegetables of all kinds, with an output of over 288,000 tons.
