Each year, the total area planted with annual crops in Thai Nguyen province reaches over 108,000 hectares, of which grain crops account for 75.6%, vegetables account for about 14%, and the remaining area is planted with crops such as beans, peas, flowers, ornamental plants, sweet potatoes, peanuts, soybeans, etc.

Regarding grain crops, the annual cultivated area reaches over 82,000 hectares, with a total grain production of over 425,000 tons. Specifically, the province cultivates 67,000 hectares of rice per year, yielding over 354,000 tons of paddy; and 15,000 hectares of corn per year, yielding over 71,000 tons.
The province maintains stable acreage and invests in intensive farming to increase productivity and quality of food crops. In the last 10 years, Thai Nguyen has not only ensured food security but also created marketable rice and corn products, contributing to raising people's income.
In addition, among the annual crops, vegetables have been produced steadily in the province. On average, the province cultivates about 15,000 hectares of various vegetables each year, with a production of over 288,000 tons.
