On the afternoon of October 28, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received a high-ranking delegation of the French Communist Party led by National Secretary Fabien Roussel on the occasion of the delegation's visit to Vietnam and participation in the 4th Theoretical Workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the French Communist Party.

General Secretary To Lam welcomed the high-ranking delegation of the French Communist Party to visit Vietnam, contributing to strengthening political trust, further tightening the solidarity and special traditional relationship of over 100 years between the two Parties, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, progress and development in the region and the world. The General Secretary expressed his appreciation for the solidarity and support that the Communist Party, Communists and people of France have always given to the Communist Party and people of Vietnam in the context of the constantly changing world situation. Delighted with the positive developments in bilateral relations, most recently the two countries upgrading their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the contributions of the relationship on the party channel, consolidating the political foundation, promoting Vietnam-France relations, as well as making active contributions within the framework of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the efforts of the French Communist Party to enhance the Party's position and role, contributing to the struggle for peace, independence, democracy and social progress in France, Europe and the world. The General Secretary provided an overview of Vietnam's achievements in nearly 40 years of renovation under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, especially in its efforts to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, towards organizing the 14th National Party Congress. General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two Parties continue to strengthen existing areas of cooperation, including the Theoretical Workshop mechanism to share theoretical issues and practical experiences to help improve the operational capacity of each Party in each country. The General Secretary also suggested a number of directions and measures to further strengthen the relationship between the two Parties.

National Secretary French Communist Party Fabien Roussel was delighted to revisit Vietnam, expressing his deep impression of Vietnam's remarkable development achievements after his first visit 41 years ago, as well as his joy at meeting General Secretary To Lam again after the meeting in Paris during his official visit to France and attending the 19th Francophone Summit. Comrade Fabien Roussel emphasized that the French Communist Party always attaches importance to and prioritizes promoting and strengthening relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam, wishing to maintain and further develop existing cooperation between the two Parties, especially the Theoretical Workshop mechanism; affirming that the French Communist Party always strives and is ready to make practical and effective contributions to promoting the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including economic-trade cooperation, railway and waterway transport, local cooperation, cooperation on the Parliamentary channel between the two countries, as well as cooperation within the framework of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
Also within the framework of the visit, Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission, chaired talks with the French Communist Party delegation, assessing the relationship between the two parties in recent times, and proposing a number of specific measures to further strengthen cooperation between the two parties in the coming time. The two sides also exchanged and proposed ideas to contribute to promoting political, economic-trade, cultural-educational relations and many other areas of cooperation between Vietnam and France as well as fostering friendship and sustainable solidarity between the people of the two countries.
On this occasion, comrade Le Hoai Trung and comrade Fabien Roussel also discussed and shared views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
