(NLDO) - General Secretary To Lam praised the contributions of the provincial police in the task of ensuring security and order, serving socio-economic development.

On the afternoon of January 5, in Binh Phuoc, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation visited and worked at the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police.

Accompanying the General Secretary were Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; leaders of Binh Phuoc province, the Board of Directors of Binh Phuoc Provincial Public Security Department, etc.

In 2024, the total product in Binh Phuoc province will reach over 61,000 billion VND, an increase of 9.32% compared to 2023. Total social investment capital will increase by more than 13%. Cultural and social fields will be given attention for comprehensive development, ensuring harmonious connection with economic development. The quality of education, training, and health care will continue to improve. Social security work and care for people with revolutionary contributions will be given timely attention, poverty reduction, ethnic and religious work will be focused on, and people's lives in the province will be increasingly improved.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, warmly commended and acknowledged the contributions of the Provincial Police in the task of ensuring security and order, serving the socio-economic development of the locality over the past time.

Regarding the direction and key tasks in the coming time, General Secretary To Lam pointed out that 2025 is of special importance in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee. The province must be determined to complete and exceed the targets of the 2025 work plan; best serve the economic-political-cultural-social-security-defense activities of the locality, especially serving the Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; resolutely implement the policy of arranging and streamlining the apparatus of the political system.

The General Secretary noted that the province needs to connect traffic between localities in the region; develop infrastructure, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the area; at the same time, focus on promoting potential to enhance socio-economic development. The province needs to closely follow the targets set by the 13th National Party Congress and the Provincial Party Congress to complete and build targets for the upcoming Congress.

The General Secretary requested the Provincial Police to play a pioneering role in reviewing, arranging, and streamlining the internal apparatus in accordance with the policies of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security; to carry out well the political and ideological work for all cadres and soldiers, to unite, unify, and resolutely implement Resolution No. 12 dated March 16, 2022 of the Politburo on promoting the building of a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern people's police force to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

The General Secretary requested that the province strengthen administrative reform, promote its leading role in digital transformation, innovation, and transformation of working status, especially in economic development, and enhance the application of modern science and technology in state management. Closely combine security and order protection with socio-economic development, effectively serving the socio-economic development tasks of the locality. Strongly promote the movement of the entire people to protect national security in conjunction with effectively implementing the work of ensuring social security in mountainous, highland, and border areas; build a comprehensively strong communal police force.

The General Secretary emphasized that Binh Phuoc is a border province with ethnic minorities, the provincial police force needs to stay close to the people, maintain social order and safety, and maintain security and order, creating conditions for socio-economic development, worthy of being a reliable support for the Party, government and people of all ethnic groups in the region.

On the same afternoon, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation visited and presented gifts to the family of Mr. Duong Duc Thung (born in 1954, in Tien Thanh ward, Dong Xoai city, Binh Phuoc province), Hero of the People's Armed Forces, for his many special achievements in combat, combat service and other tasks, and as a war invalid with a disability rate of 61%.
