On the morning of February 25, in Hanoi, the 108 Military Central Hospital held an inauguration ceremony for two projects: the Central Institute for Health Protection and Care of Cadres (A11), the Clinical Institute for Infectious Diseases (A4) and the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025). General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, attended and delivered a speech.
Also attending the ceremony were National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries: Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Politburo members: General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Le Hoai Trung, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Ho Duc Phoc, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister; Party Central Committee members, leaders of central ministries, departments, branches, the Ministry of National Defense, and the 108 Military Central Hospital.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a number of former leaders of the Party, State and Army sent congratulatory flower baskets.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Major General Le Huu Song, Director of the 108 Central Military Hospital, affirmed that, established in 1951, after nearly 75 years of construction, growth and development, generations of medical staff and medical staff of the 108 Central Military Hospital have promoted the good nature and glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, always united, proactive, creative, self-reliant, striving, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, successfully completing the task of admitting, rescuing, treating, and taking care of the health of officers and soldiers in the army and the people; including the extremely glorious task of protecting and taking care of the health of the highest-ranking officials of the Party, State, Army, and high-ranking leaders of the friendly countries of Laos and Cambodia.
108 Military Central Hospital has comprehensively innovated the training and education of high-quality medical human resources and improved foreign language proficiency for officers and employees; promoted scientific research, postgraduate training and many other types of training; deployed new, high-tech, specialized techniques in diagnosing and treating patients, including cutting-edge techniques reaching regional and international levels, most notably human tissue and organ transplantation techniques, marking new milestones in the history of medicine in our country. The hospital has effectively implemented digital transformation in all professional activities; innovated and arranged units in the direction of "Refined-Low-Strong", strengthened administrative reform, improved management, continuously improved the quality of treatment, bringing the best benefits to patients; ensured the effectiveness and efficiency of projects and topics that have been and are being implemented.
The Director of the 108 Central Military Hospital said that the Project of the Central Institute for Health Protection and Care of Cadres and the Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases was implemented with the aim of improving the quality of medical services and research, contributing to the implementation of the mission of a special-class hospital in the examination and treatment of high-ranking cadres of the Party, State, Army and people; connecting with the existing infrastructure of the Hospital.
The Central Institute for Health Protection and Care of Cadres has a scale of 1 basement, 7 floors above ground, a floor area of 19,684m2 , and 23 patient rooms. The Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases has a scale of 1 basement connected to the tunnel of the central cluster of works and 7 floors above ground with a total floor area of 15,379m2 . on a construction area of 2,079m2 , arranged with 145 beds (can be increased by 200%-300% when necessary). The two buildings have a synchronous technical system; the technical system and medical equipment apply advanced, modern technologies, ensuring long-term sustainability. The inauguration of the two buildings marks a major step forward in the development strategy of the Hospital. The collective of doctors, medical staff and employees of the Hospital continues to promote the glorious tradition, actively study, research, improve professional qualifications, professional ethics, determined to focus all resources, constantly strive, overcome all difficulties to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and Army.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam congratulated and praised the achievements of the medical staff of the 108 Military Central Hospital, contributing to the remarkable development of the health sector. The hospital's medical staff has successfully and safely performed difficult and complicated techniques, saving the lives of many patients, with many techniques reaching regional and international standards, maintaining its position as one of the largest organ transplant centers in the country, the number one liver transplant facility in Vietnam; affirming the leading technical function of end-line specialties. The hospital has proactively expanded and diversified the types of medical examination and treatment to meet the needs of society; improved professional quality, quality of care and service; at the same time, strengthened and expanded international cooperation extensively, creating a solid foundation for sustainable development in technology as well as training high-quality human resources for the hospital and for the Vietnamese health sector.
The General Secretary acknowledged the determination of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense in focusing on building and completing on schedule the Central Institute for Health Protection and Care of Cadres and the Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases; moving departments and rooms into operation with extremely special service features, worthy of being a national special-class hospital, a strategic hospital at the end of the military line, creating the premise for the 108 Military Central Hospital to soon become an international-class hospital.
Affirming that the cause of protecting and caring for people's health is a common responsibility of the whole society, in which the health sector plays a core role, the General Secretary suggested that, as a strategic hospital, the last line of the Army and the whole country, in the coming years, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the 108 Central Military Hospital continue to focus on leadership, direction and organization of implementation to create important breakthroughs in: professional quality, quality of care and service; promote administrative reform, simplify administrative procedures, strongly apply digital transformation in medical examination and treatment; build a team of cadres and employees with strong political will, good expertise, and clear medical ethics; build a standard, scientific and advanced hospital.
The General Secretary emphasized that in order to maintain prestige and continue sustainable development, the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the Hospital, professors, doctors, pharmacists, scientists and the medical staff of the 108 Central Military Hospital continue to promote the tradition of solidarity and creativity, focus on building a clean and strong Party organization, promote the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style and the Campaign. “Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers” new period; build a team of cadres who are politically steadfast, morally exemplary, proactive, creative, self-reliant, and self-reliant in performing professional and technical tasks; focus on training, attracting and developing talents; build a team of intellectuals and scientists with good professional qualifications, good moral qualities and pure medical ethics.
Hospitals need to constantly maintain and comprehensively improve professional quality in all aspects, taking patients as the center, completing well the tasks of admission, emergency and treatment. Regarding the Central Institute for Health Protection and Care of Cadres and the Clinical Institute of Infectious Diseases, the General Secretary requested the leaders and commanders of the Hospital to pay attention to doing a good job of technical work to operate the project safely, in accordance with regulations, effectively exploit modern equipment, avoid waste and loss; at the same time, educate all cadres and employees to have good awareness in preserving, operating, using effectively, efficiently, safely and with quality of the project to well serve the high-quality medical examination and treatment needs of soldiers and people.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day, the General Secretary wished all medical staff, medical staff in general and the staff of the 108 Military Central Hospital good health, happiness and success in their noble career. He believed that the two new Institutes would promote efficiency and effectiveness, contributing to improving the quality of medical services, increasingly meeting the health care needs of cadres, soldiers and people.
