This morning, January 8, the conference to review the work of 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025 of the Government and local authorities was held online.

At the Government bridge, there were also secretaries of provincial and municipal Party Committees, chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities; leaders of a number of corporations, general companies, the State Bank, and a number of business associations.

This conference is of great importance, focusing on assessing the situation and results achieved in various fields in 2024.

Presenting the report, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized that our country's socio-economic situation continues to recover very positively, with each month being higher than the previous month, and 2024 achieving many outstanding results in all fields and better than 2023.

Assessing that 2025 is of great significance and is the year of many important events for the country, the First Deputy Prime Minister said the tasks are extremely heavy.

“We must accelerate and make breakthroughs to achieve the socio-economic development goals of 2025 and the entire 2021-2025 term, creating a premise to implement the development plan for the 2026-2030 period,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

He said the theme of 2025 is "Discipline and responsibility; proactive and timely; streamlined and effective; accelerated breakthrough".

In particular, the Government and the Prime Minister focus on directing the synchronous implementation of resolutions and conclusions of the Party and the National Assembly, focusing on 3 strategic breakthroughs, 6 key tasks, 12 main groups of solutions and 185 specific tasks to reach the goals and targets.

The general goal mentioned by the Deputy Prime Minister is to continue to prioritize promoting growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, ensuring major balances of the economy; perfecting institutions and laws; developing infrastructure; improving the quality of human resources; developing science and technology, innovation, etc.

The Government strives for a growth rate of more than 8%; the consumer price index (CPI) increases by an average of about 4.5%; the poverty rate according to the multidimensional poverty standard decreases by about 0.8-1%...

Among the proposed solutions, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that institutional perfection is the “breakthrough of breakthroughs”; streamlining the apparatus, improving effectiveness and efficiency; successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.

The Government aims to complete the restructuring of government agencies in February; effectively implement mechanisms, policies and regimes in restructuring the apparatus, while attracting and promoting talents; build and protect a team of cadres and civil servants with expertise, good moral qualities, a high sense of responsibility, and the courage to think and act for the common good.

To promote growth, the Government directed to focus on immediately developing economic growth scenarios for the whole country and each locality in 2025, striving for the national growth rate in 2025 to reach over 8% or 10% under favorable conditions, creating momentum, strength, position, and confidence for double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period.

In addition, according to the Government leader, it is necessary to mobilize social resources to the maximum, effectively exploit resources from state-owned enterprises, strongly develop private enterprises; urgently remove obstacles to effectively unleash resources from the real estate market, securities, and corporate bonds.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, it is necessary to promote the development of strategic infrastructure, especially key national projects.

“Strive to complete 3,000km of expressways and over 1,000km of coastal roads by the end of 2025; focus on upgrading and expanding a number of expressways according to the planning scale; exploit the Tan Son Nhat T3 and Noi Bai T2 terminal projects; build the North-South high-speed railway, routes connecting with China, and urban railways in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City,” the Deputy Prime Minister stated the goal.

In addition, the Government stated that it is necessary to promote Party building, prevent and combat corruption, negativity and waste; develop culture, ensure social security, proactively prevent and combat natural disasters, and respond to climate change.
