On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the evening of April 21, at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater (District 1), General Secretary To Lam attended the special concert "Symphony of Peace."
Also attending the Program were comrades: Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, former Politburo member, former National Assembly Chairwoman; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; comrades of the Party Central Committee, former members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of ministries, departments, branches of the Central Government and Ho Chi Minh City; representatives of diplomatic agencies in Vietnam.
The special concert program called “Peace Symphony” brings together the symphony orchestra of the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, bringing the audience a solemn and emotional artistic space.
The program is divided into two parts, with a combination of world classics and immortal Vietnamese songs.
In part one, the audience enjoyed famous songs such as “Glory and Hope” by Edward Elgar, “Voices of Spring” by Johann Strauss II, and Vietnamese compositions such as “Country” (Pham Minh Tuan), “Love Song” (Hoang Viet).
In particular, the pieces are arranged for symphony orchestra, bringing new nuances to familiar melodies. This part is conducted by Dr. and Conductor Le Ha My.
Under the direction of Conductor Tran Nhat Minh, the second part continued to impress with excerpts from musicals such as “Nessun Dorma” ( Turandot), “Cinema Paradiso,” “The Tale of Viktor Navorski” (The Terminal), and works praising victory and peace such as “Hello, Liberation Army,” “We Are Vietnamese Police Soldiers,” and “The Country Is Full of Joy.”
The program has the participation of famous artists in the academic music genre of the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera and artists from Hanoi such as People's Artist Bui Cong Duy; Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Khanh Ngoc; Tang Thanh Nam; singers Dao Mac, Truong Linh, Bao Yen, Duyen Huyen, Pham Trang,...
The combination of the choir, soloists and symphony orchestra created a meaningful music night, honoring the spirit of solidarity, the desire for peace and national pride./.
