Voter Nguyen Kim Son (Doi Can Ward, Ba Dinh District) expressed his welcome for the Party Central Committee to continue summarizing the implementation of Resolution 18 of the 12th Party Central Committee on streamlining the apparatus of the political system.
“This is an urgent practical requirement, a breakthrough revolution in organizational structure, dedicating human and financial resources to national development,” Mr. Son emphasized.
Along with the proposal to comprehensively reform education and training to have high-quality human resources to develop the country, voter Nguyen Kim Son suggested strong solutions to handle projects and plans that have been suspended for many years.
Voters also requested solutions to manage the real estate market which is causing many consequences, greatly affecting development, causing loss of state assets and national resources, making people suffer, pushing up housing prices, making workers unable to buy houses while many apartments are abandoned...

Don't rest on your laurels
After listening to voters’ opinions, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the voters’ dedicated and responsible opinions. The General Secretary was also moved by the people’s sentiments and kind words, agreement and support for the Party and State’s policies and guidelines for national development.
The General Secretary affirmed that he will try his best to fulfill his duties as a representative of the capital's people to be worthy of the trust and expectations of voters.
The General Secretary stated that we have completed and exceeded all socio-economic targets for 2024, creating a very important premise for the whole country to make a breakthrough and accelerate the completion of socio-economic development targets for 2025 and the 2021-2026 period. According to the General Secretary, this is the basis for us to firmly enter a new era, an era of national growth right after the 14th National Party Congress scheduled to be held in the first quarter of 2026.
The General Secretary emphasized that under the Party's leadership for nearly 95 years, the country has made remarkable progress. From a poor and backward country, Vietnam has become a developing country with average income, deeply and widely integrated into the world. The size of the economy in 2023 is 96 times larger than in 1986.
Up to now, Vietnam is in the group of 40 countries with the largest economies in the world, the top 20 economies in terms of trade and foreign investment attraction; has diplomatic relations with 194 countries... The lives of 105 million people have improved significantly...
However, the General Secretary noted that we must not "rest on our laurels", as the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once advised. Urgent tasks to enter the new era
Responding to many opinions of voters concerned about the country's development, entering the era of development, the era of prosperity, General Secretary To Lam said that the Party Central Committee has outlined a number of urgent tasks such as: strengthening the leadership, governing and fighting role of the Party; streamlining the organization and apparatus of the political system; removing institutional bottlenecks for development, promoting solutions to promote socio-economic development, improving people's lives; strengthening the fight against corruption, waste and negativity; strengthening the strength of the great national unity bloc...
Regarding the organizational arrangement of the political system, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Party Central Committee have decided to summarize the implementation of Resolution No. 18 of the 12th Party Central Committee on the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus and have reached a high consensus on the plan to streamline the organizational structure of the political system.
Accordingly, a number of Party committees; a number of ministries, branches, a number of National Assembly committees, party organizations under the Vietnam Fatherland Front... will be rearranged and restructured. The goal is to strive for plans to rearrange and consolidate the organization and apparatus of the political system to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.

Regarding the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity and waste, the General Secretary affirmed that it will continue to be carried out resolutely and thoroughly, especially after the Politburo and the Secretariat decided to add anti-waste content to the tasks of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity.
This work must be done without stopping, without any forbidden areas or exceptions, to organize a truly clean and strong political system, truly of the people, by the people, for the people; civil servants and public employees must truly be servants of the people.
Acknowledging and praising the achievements and results that the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi have achieved in the past year, the General Secretary noted that Hanoi still has a lot of work to do and must strive to be worthy of the trust, love and hope of the whole country.
