General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong meets with the group of female deputies of the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam

On the afternoon of June 5, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a friendly meeting with the group of female deputies of the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam.

Attending the meeting were: Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee Truong Thi Mai; Politburo member, Permanent Vice President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; Party Central Committee Secretaries: Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Department Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Le Minh Hung; Party Central Committee members: Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Chairwoman of the Social Committee, Chairwoman of the Group of Women Deputies of the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thuy Anh, and representatives of leaders of departments, ministries, branches and central agencies. At the meeting, Chairwoman of the Social Committee, Chairwoman of the Group of Women Deputies of the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thuy Anh reported to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on the situation and results of the activities of the Group of Women Deputies of the National Assembly of Vietnam since its establishment. Over the past 15 years (May 15, 2008 - May 15, 2023), marking its mark in 4 National Assembly terms, with the support and attention of Party and State leaders and National Assembly leaders of all periods, the Vietnam Women's National Assembly Delegates Group has made positive contributions to the implementation of the functions and tasks of the National Assembly in the fields of legislation, supervision, deciding on important issues of the country and promoting gender equality. The contributions in all aspects of female National Assembly deputies have always been recognized by the Party, State and National Assembly in the overall success of the Vietnam National Assembly. Through the National Assembly terms, many female leaders and members of the Women's Group have been trusted, assigned with greater responsibilities, and continued to be re-elected as National Assembly deputies. This recognizes the efforts and dedication of female National Assembly deputies in performing the tasks of the National Assembly, contributing to the renovation, construction and protection of the Vietnamese Fatherland... During the 15th National Assembly term, there were 151 female National Assembly deputies, accounting for 30.26%. All female National Assembly deputies have a university degree or higher, of which 79.5% have a post-graduate degree; 30 deputies are under 40 years old (accounting for 19.86%). Female National Assembly deputies have very different working conditions, at all levels, in all sectors and fields, but they all maintain the qualities of people's representatives, are close to voters, enthusiastic and dedicated in their work, and strive to study to improve their political theory and legal knowledge...

At the meeting, female National Assembly deputies expressed their wish that Party and State leaders continue to pay more attention to the work of female cadres, including female National Assembly deputies. Listening to the statements and proposals of female National Assembly deputies, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed and highly appreciated the profound opinions and sense of responsibility of female National Assembly deputies. The General Secretary emphasized that from the first years, at the highest state power agency, through each term of the National Assembly, female National Assembly deputies have always demonstrated their mettle, intelligence, talent and enthusiasm, worthy of being outstanding women, representatives of the people. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hopes and believes that female deputies of the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to promote their achievements, experiences, proactiveness, and creativity, contributing more to the activities of the country and the National Assembly, especially in specialized fields and the strengths of the deputies, contributing to building our country to become more and more developed, our Fatherland to become more and more prosperous, and the people's lives to become more and more prosperous and better. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong stated that the cause of innovation, industrialization, modernization, construction and protection of the country in the new period is posing very high demands on the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire political system, including the great role and responsibility of the National Assembly as well as National Assembly deputies, including female deputies.

The General Secretary noted that female National Assembly deputies need to continue to promote the heroic and glorious tradition of Vietnamese women, wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly for the interests of the nation, for the happy life of the people; better perform their role as representatives of the people; promote a high sense of responsibility in building and perfecting the legal system (including laws and policies on gender equality), supreme supervision and decision on important issues of the country in the activities of the National Assembly. Each female National Assembly deputy needs to constantly study, practice, improve their moral qualities and qualifications, professional and technical capacity; promote the strengths of women, creating high persuasiveness in their participation as well as in the activities of the National Assembly. At the same time, female National Assembly deputies also need to promote their bravery and intelligence, truly be "steel roses", shining examples of solidarity, striving, progress, development and spreading, inspiring women across the country, especially the younger generation. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong requested that the Group of Vietnamese female National Assembly deputies continue to innovate in content, diversify working methods, improve quality, share experiences, exchange information, knowledge and skills in the activities of the National Assembly, create consensus of the National Assembly in participating in the development of policies and laws in general, including policies and laws for women, children and gender equality; contribute to effectively implementing the goal of promoting gender equality, narrowing the gender gap; improve the quality and effectiveness of the activities of female National Assembly deputies.

The group of Vietnamese female National Assembly deputies needs to continue to strengthen and expand friendly exchange activities, international cooperation, actively participate in international and regional conferences, seminars and forums, especially on promoting gender equality, preventing and combating domestic violence, poverty and climate change, etc., to further enhance the position and prestige of Vietnamese female National Assembly deputies in the international arena. The General Secretary affirmed that the Party and State have been creating all conditions for female National Assembly deputies to promote their role as representatives of the people; ensuring resources for the law on gender equality to be increasingly better enforced. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hopes that the group of Vietnamese female National Assembly deputies will continue to promote the achieved results, make greater contributions to the activities of the National Assembly, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the activities of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, of the people, by the people and for the people.
