On the afternoon of June 12, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, key leaders: General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met to assess the situation and results of work in April and May 2024 and key tasks in the coming time. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Comrade Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat; Comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Party Central Committee member, Head of the Party Central Committee Office. At the meeting, key leaders assessed that in the past two months, the entire Party, people, and army have strived to achieve many important results in the fields of socio-economic development, national defense, security, foreign affairs, Party building and the political system, personnel work, and anti-corruption and negativity work. Notably, the 9th Central Committee Conference was successfully organized; The 7th Session (phase 1) of the 15th National Assembly was held with many important contents, especially the personnel work was carried out synchronously and promptly, receiving high consensus from public opinion, cadres, party members and people; the positions of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term were completed; the Chairman of the 15th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term and the position of Standing member of the 13th Secretariat were completed; the Central Committee elected 4 additional members of the 13th Politburo; the personnel of the sub-committees preparing for the 14th National Party Congress, the Central Internal Political Protection Sub-committee and a number of steering committees were completed and approved the completion of the leadership positions of a number of party and state agencies. The socio-economic situation continued to change positively. The macro-economy was stable, major balances were ensured. State budget revenue increased, the state financial-budget situation continued to improve. Industrial production maintained growth momentum; agricultural production developed well. Energy security and food security were ensured... The number of international visitors to Vietnam, import and export activities of goods; attracting foreign investment capital; the production and business situation of enterprises had many positive changes. The Government has completed and approved the Planning of 6 socio-economic regions; there are many drastic solutions to focus on removing difficulties for production and business; promoting important national projects and works, developing social housing, stabilizing the gold market and credit market. Administrative reform, digital transformation, Project 06 on "Developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period of 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030" has been directed for implementation. Social security work continues to receive attention. National security, social order and safety are ensured; cultural, sports, tourism, information and propaganda activities are promoted with many positive marks, especially the activities and the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024); disease and natural disaster prevention and control work is actively deployed... The fields of inspection, discipline, anti-corruption and negativity continue to receive attention and direction. Foreign affairs activities take place practically and effectively, contributing to enhancing the role and position of Vietnam...

Regarding some key tasks in the coming time, key leaders emphasized that, in addition to opportunities and advantages, we are and will face many difficulties and challenges due to the complicated and unpredictable developments in the world situation, fierce competition between major countries, escalating conflicts; climate change, natural disasters, and epidemics have had a serious impact, so all levels and sectors must continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and unity; coordinate smoothly and effectively direct the implementation of tasks. Specifically: Strongly promote economic growth associated with consolidating and maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, ensuring major balances of the economy; focusing on removing difficulties for production and business. Have solutions to stabilize the market and prices, especially for gasoline, oil, essential goods, housing, and food. Implement synchronous and effective solutions to strictly manage the gold market in conjunction with maintaining exchange rates and stabilizing the macro economy. Accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, 3 national target programs, important and key national works, projects and infrastructure. Urgently implement issued plans, especially Power Plan VIII, regions and provinces; focus on completing the approval of the remaining plans. Proactively develop appropriate plans and schemes, ensuring sufficient electricity, water, and gasoline for production, business and daily life. Continue to promote the construction and improvement of institutions and law enforcement, especially for newly effective laws; ensure efficiency, synchronization and timeliness. Promote administrative procedure reform, digital transformation, and implement the Project "Developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030." Strengthen measures to prevent and combat natural disasters, fires, floods, droughts, and saltwater intrusion; Ensure traffic safety, security and food safety. Focus on doing well the work to prepare for directing party congresses at all levels towards the 14th Party Congress; focus on completing the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress to submit to the 10th Central Conference as planned, review and supplement the planning at all levels to prepare for the personnel project of party congresses at all levels. Continue to do well the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity, contributing to consolidating and enhancing people's trust in the Party, the State and the regime. Speed ​​up the verification, investigation, prosecution and trial of serious and complicated corruption and negativity cases and incidents that are of public concern, especially cases and incidents under the supervision of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity. Direct and urge party organizations to overcome violations and shortcomings that have been concluded by the Central Inspection Committee and relevant agencies.
