At the ceremony, authorized by the General Secretary and President, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pham Thanh Ha announced the President's decision to appoint 16 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to foreign countries. Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the appointed Ambassadors expressed their emotion and honor to receive the decision directly from the General Secretary and President; demonstrating the recognition, trust and concern of the Party and State leaders and of the General Secretary and President personally for the diplomatic sector and foreign affairs activities. The appointed Ambassadors expressed their joy at taking up their duties in the context of the country entering the final stage to successfully complete the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, prepare for the 14th National Congress, enter the era of national development, and realize the aspiration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country. The Ambassadors pledged to thoroughly grasp and closely follow the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and the directions of leaders at all levels; contribute to concretizing Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization, promote cooperative relations with local partners, and contribute to further consolidating Vietnam's position, protecting national interests and developing the country in the new period. Presenting the appointment decisions and assigning tasks to the Ambassadors, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, the General Secretary and President congratulated the comrades appointed as Ambassadors to the countries; affirming that this is an honor as well as a great responsibility assigned by the Party, State and people. The Ambassadors appointed this time are all in important regions and areas, including traditional friendly countries with very good relations and also new areas. Sharing with the appointed Ambassadors about the advantages and difficulties, the General Secretary and President emphasized: Vietnam's position has been strengthened in the international arena; Vietnam participates actively and responsibly in multilateral forums. The General Secretary and President also pointed out that after 80 years of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the country has achieved many important achievements, but the need for development is still very large, there are still many difficulties, and the development speed has not met the needs. The goal by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, Vietnam strives to become an industrialized country with a high income, which is an extremely heavy task requiring the efforts of the entire nation. In that context, the General Secretary and President affirmed that foreign affairs tasks are important, regular and comprehensive; the tasks of Ambassadors are in all aspects and fields of the country, such as diplomacy, economy, culture, national defense, security, protection of national and ethnic rights and interests. Ambassadors are not only bridges, but also people who truly implement the Party and State's policies, taking the lead on the foreign affairs front.
