General Secretary and President To Lam pays state visit to Cuba

On the afternoon of September 25 local time, or the morning of September 26 Hanoi time, after completing activities to attend the Future Summit, the 79th United Nations General Assembly, working in the US, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left New York for a state visit to Cuba at the invitation of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez and his wife.

The delegation included Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang; Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Head of the Central Party Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; and a number of Party Central Committee members who are Ministers, Provincial Party Secretaries; Assistant to the General Secretary and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Cuba.

This State visit to Cuba by General Secretary and President To Lam marks an important moment of historical significance, a strong testament to the special brotherly friendship over the past 65 years between the two nations, half a world apart, which has always been considered a valuable asset highly valued by the Parties, States and peoples of the two countries.
