According to VNA special correspondent, on the morning of October 6 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation laid flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at Montreau Park, Montreuil city, France.

After laying a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Monument and spending a minute in memory of Uncle Ho in Montreau Park, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his emotion when visiting Montreau city once again, where there is a statue of President Ho Chi Minh and Ho Chi Minh Space.
The General Secretary and President was especially grateful for the gesture of the city government and Montreau friends in preserving the precious documents and relics of President Ho Chi Minh.


General Secretary and President To Lam stated that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh devoted much effort to fostering the friendship between the people of the two countries and was one of the founding members of the French Communist Party. General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that Vietnam and France have a special relationship in all aspects, from history, politics, economics to culture, architecture and people... with many ups and downs and breakthroughs.
According to General Secretary and President To Lam, President Ho Chi Minh's attachment to France as well as the revolutionary and national liberation path he chose are the clearest illustrations of the relationship between the two countries and two peoples of Vietnam and France.

The General Secretary and President was pleased to see that the Vietnam-France strategic partnership is developing well, based on the friendship, tradition and trust between the two countries, emphasizing that these achievements have contributed significantly to the French friends who were also present at the event. In particular, cooperation between Vietnamese and French localities is a special feature of the bilateral relationship, contributing to enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always considers France a leading European partner and that choosing France to make his first visit to Europe as General Secretary and President of Vietnam this time demonstrates the strong determination of the Party and State of Vietnam to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation with France.

Representing the Montreuil city government, Mayor Patrice Bessac expressed his honor to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam at Montreau Park, a special historical site, home to the Living History Museum, preserving memories of the liberation struggles and promoting human dignity. Mayor Patrice Bessac emphasized that the presence of the General Secretary and President here is a strong testament to the close friendship between the Vietnamese and French people, especially between the Vietnamese people and the city of Montreau, a city of simplicity, rich in culture, grown from the tradition of workers' struggles and commitments to social justice.

After planting the commemorative tree, General Secretary and President To Lam and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Space. Signing the Golden Book here, the General Secretary and President expressed his honor and emotion to visit the Ho Chi Minh Space, emphasizing that the visit helped the delegation better understand the great sacrifices of President Ho Chi Minh on the path to find a way to save the country, and more deeply feel the good feelings and valuable support that the Montreau City Government and French friends have given to Vietnam and the traditional friendship between the two countries.



General Secretary and President To Lam respectfully thanked the French friends for dedicating a solemn space to preserve the priceless documents and relics of President Ho Chi Minh, the national liberation hero and world cultural celebrity; affirmed that the children of Vietnam are willing to follow the path chosen by beloved President Ho Chi Minh, determined to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam, contributing worthily to the world revolutionary cause; wished the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France to develop more and more well, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.



* "Ho Chi Minh Space" is located in the Living History Museum in the heart of Montreau Park, in the city of Montreuil (suburb of Paris). On the left side of the Museum is the campus with the bust of President Ho Chi Minh. In 1980, the Living History Museum was chosen as the place to preserve President Ho Chi Minh's relics and "Ho Chi Minh Space" was opened on the occasion of his 110th birthday (May 19, 2000). This space is where precious images and artifacts about President Ho Chi Minh's life and work during his years in France are kept. In addition, the space also displays many documents, books, newspapers, and pictures introducing the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh. The city government considers this Space one of the city's cultural heritages.
