On August 27, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, General Secretary and President To Lam, Head of the Party's XIV National Congress Documents Subcommittee, chaired a meeting of the Party's XIV National Congress Documents Subcommittee to give comments on the draft Political Report developed by the Editorial Team based on the detailed outline of the Political Report approved by the 9th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee.

Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong; members of the Document Subcommittee and Standing member of the Document Editorial Team also attended.

At the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Standing member of the Subcommittee, Head of the Document Editorial Team presented the Editorial Team's Submission on the draft Political Report.

Concluding the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended the efforts of the Document Editorial Team, which worked proactively and responsibly to submit to the Standing Subcommittee the draft of the 6th Political Report after many revisions and comments.

To continue perfecting the draft Political Report to submit to the Politburo for consideration, comments, and to complete the submission to the 10th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee to meet the requirements of both quality and progress, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized: The Political Report is the central report, so the content of the Report must be expressed in terms of viewpoints and policies; must unify the perception of the new historical starting point, the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise, after 40 years of carrying out the renovation process; arouse the pride, self-reliance, self-reliance and confidence of cadres, party members and people in the correct and wise line of the Party, in the goal and path to socialism that beloved Uncle Ho and our entire nation have chosen.

General Secretary and President To Lam requested to continue to thoroughly grasp the guiding thoughts of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, especially the three basic principles in drafting documents: Perseverance and innovation; inheritance and development; skillful combination between theory and practice, between theoretical research, summarizing practice and policy orientation.

In order for the Political Report to truly be the intellectual product of the Party, General Secretary and President To Lam noted that the Subcommittee and Editorial Team must promote democracy and collective intelligence. During the discussion and deliberations, it is necessary to be open-minded, listen, respect each other's opinions, and create high unity, especially on new and difficult issues.

Carefully study issued documents; seek the participation and contributions of former leaders, intellectuals, researchers and managers; focus on exploiting domestic and international scientific research results; good practices and new models in practice, especially the practice over 40 years of innovation.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the work of the Subcommittee, the Standing Committee of the Document Subcommittee as well as the upcoming Document Editorial Team is still very large, and there is not much time left until the 10th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee, requiring great efforts to continue perfecting the draft Political Report; it is necessary to continue to spend adequate time and effort, coordinate, and closely and regularly contact the subcommittees and the standing editorial teams of other subcommittees to complete this extremely important and meaningful work with the highest quality and on schedule.
