On the afternoon of October 20, General Secretary and President To Lam attended a meeting with leaders of central internal affairs agencies. The meeting aimed to encourage the efforts, endeavors, and achievements of the collectives and individuals of internal affairs agencies in recent times; to thoroughly grasp and implement a number of new policies on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity in the coming time.

Speaking here, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that internal affairs agencies have a particularly important position and role, are the core and loyal force, are the sharp "sword", are the solid "shield", are the specific "vaccine" to protect the Fatherland, maintain social order and discipline , protect the people, protect the Party, the State and the regime. In the past time, internal affairs agencies have made a lot of efforts, made great efforts, and had high determination, achieved many very important results, leaving many outstanding marks. This is the result, the common joy of the internal affairs agencies. The General Secretary and President affirmed that these results were achieved thanks to the solidarity, close and harmonious coordination "in the right role, by heart" in the spirit of the rule of law of the internal affairs agencies. The General Secretary and President hoped that the internal affairs agencies would continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of coordination, "combat coordination" between internal affairs agencies and between internal affairs agencies and all levels and sectors, ensuring closeness, regularity, harmony and effectiveness. Strong and highly deterrent handling of wasteful behavior
General Secretary and President To Lam requested that internal affairs agencies coordinate and advise on the preparation of the content of the upcoming meeting of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity. At the same time, resolutely, regularly, comprehensively and synchronously deploy the work of inspection, supervision, auditing, investigation, prosecution, trial, execution of judgments, early detection and strict handling of corruption, waste and negativity cases. The General Secretary and President also requested that internal affairs agencies must both advise and direct the better implementation of the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity; and must focus on advising on promoting, resolutely, synchronously and effectively the work of preventing and combating waste; and handle waste strongly and with high deterrence against wasteful acts. At the same time, link the prevention and combat of corruption, waste and negativity with serving socio-economic development and protecting national interests; Resolutely recover corrupt and wasteful assets; promptly handle and replace leaders and managers when there are signs of corruption, waste, and negativity. At the same time, it is necessary to resolutely protect innovative, creative, daring-to-think, daring-to-act officials for the common good, with pure motives. According to the General Secretary and President, the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity must be carried out synchronously with measures: political, ideological, organizational, administrative, economic, criminal, in which criminal is the last measure. The work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity must be carried out regularly, down to the grassroots, Party cells, and Party members with effective solutions, creating strong spread, becoming a conscious and voluntary act of each cadre, Party member and citizen; it is necessary to build a culture of integrity, thrift, and no corruption, waste, and negativity among cadres, Party members and citizens.
