On July 21, in Hanoi, continuing the series of activities demonstrating "Traditional vocational skills" of ethnic minority groups, a demonstration of traditional fabric embroidery techniques of the White Mong people took place in Ngai Tro village, Y Ty commune, Bat Xat district.
With the support of Craft Link, the White Mong ethnic group in Y Ty has participated in a handicraft development project to improve economic life, preserve traditional culture and raise community awareness.
The technique of patchwork embroidery is a characteristic of the White Mong ethnic group, used to create patterns on collars, sleeves, belts, and baby carriers.
Previously, in June 2023, Craft Link also successfully organized a performance program of traditional embroidery art of the Red Dao ethnic group in Ta Phin commune (Sa Pa town) in Hanoi; attracting many domestic customers and international tourists interested in traditional brocade products and experiencing handicrafts with the Red Dao people.
Through the performances, the unique traditional crafts of each region are introduced and honored to the community, promoting the preservation of cultural heritage and indigenous knowledge of ethnic minorities in Lao Cai province.
