The Fund to accompany students in difficult areas of Hanoi National University of Education was established from the initiative of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh - former Principal of the school; to carry out activities to encourage learning, encourage talents, and award prizes to motivate and encourage students to overcome difficulties and promote their own abilities in studying and training.
The fund was launched in early 2024, receiving sponsorship from many businesses, organizations and individuals.
Sharing at the fund's second scholarship award ceremony recently, Professor Nguyen Van Minh emphasized that the Fund carries the meaning of gratitude to spread gratitude, love and aspiration for good things for the future, for places and lives with many difficulties; honoring the values of dedication and sacrifice to do meaningful work; not having the slightest shape or form of pure charity or favor.
Students who receive support from this Fund are proud people because they are in difficult circumstances but are willing to go through hardship for the good of future generations.
"The children who receive support from the Fund are proud, there is nothing to be self-conscious or embarrassed about; because they are the ones who go to spread the faith, go to serve, not the weak ones who need help, and favors for themselves. Let's dispel the obsession with giving, with what seems like indebtedness to others in such a trivial way," said Professor Nguyen Van Minh.
According to him, the students of the school are people of strong will; the children who receive support from the Fund are people full of will, dare to go, dare to go back, to change, to repay, to share with the place where they were born, where they grew up, the place that gives them food and clothes, where parents and relatives work hard to make ends meet every day, where children are waiting for new and good things.
"Ingratitude is like a tree that is moving away from the ground. If the roots are not strong, no matter how much you fertilize yourself, it is a worse way of living than symbiosis. Sooner or later, it will wither. I hope you will be grateful people and repay your kindness," said Professor Nguyen Van Minh.
Young teacher Hoang Minh Tam, a new teacher at Pac Nam Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, Na Leng village, Boc Bo commune, Pac Nam district, Bac Kan province, is a former student of Hanoi National University of Education. Minh Tam is one of the students who received support and companionship from the fund in 2024 when she was a final year student at the school.
"I feel very lucky to receive the care and help of teachers and the school board. The fund to support students in difficult areas has given me more hope," Minh Tam emotionally shared.
During the ceremony, Hanoi National University of Education announced that the Fund to accompany students in difficult areas of Hanoi National University of Education received 550 million VND.
