Honoring 51 artists with outstanding contributions to literature and arts of Binh Duong province

Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Head of Local Department 3, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Le Song Tung, Head of the Southern Representative Office of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of departments, branches and sectors.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, gave a speech at the conference.

Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the conference.

Over the past 50 years, the province's literary and artistic community has grown steadily. The provincial Literature and Arts Association currently has more than 400 members, many of whom are members of the Central Professional Association. Many of its works have won high awards in the region and nationwide, deeply reflecting the social life and beauty of Binh Duong people.

Art forms from literature, music , fine arts to photography, theater, dance... develop quite evenly, constantly innovate and create. Traditional festivals such as Thien Hau Temple Festival, Ong Bon Temple Festival, Ky Yen Festival... are still maintained, highlighting the cultural identity of the community.

The Huynh Van Nghe Award, the continuous organization of creative programs and art exchanges, and the investment in infrastructure for cultural and social works are evidence of the provincial leaders' interest in the development of culture and art. In addition, arteducation activities in schools, mass art movements, theory and criticism classes, and cultural socialization activities have also developed strongly, creating a solid foundation for the future.

Musician Vo Dong Dien presented the paper "Binh Duong Music, 50 years of a journey"

People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thu Hong presented a paper "Vietnamese Literature and Arts after the Reunification of the Country - The Kings and Queens of the Binh Duong Theater Industry"

Musician Pham Dac Hien presented a paper "Innovation in forms of expression and themes in artistic creation is a premise for the development of Binh Duong province's culture and arts"

The conference listened to 5 presentations by leaders, former leaders of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association and artists; introduced, honored and rewarded 51 artists who made outstanding contributions to the development of literature and arts in Binh Duong province after the country's reunification.

Provincial leaders presented flowers to thank the family representatives of the honored officials and artists.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan praised and highly appreciated the achievements of the artists and the province's literature and arts 50 years after the country's reunification and in nearly 30 years of Binh Duong's construction and development.

He also suggested that the Provincial Literature and Arts Association and the staff and artists of Binh Duong need to quickly renew their thinking and vision in organizing activities and creating to be worthy of a centrally-run city. Literature and arts in the new development stage must reflect the breath and pulse of contemporary social life; become an indispensable need of every citizen, to nourish the soul, help life to be happy and sublime; truly be the endogenous resource of development.
