Honoring 224 organizations and individuals with outstanding contributions to the tourism industry

On the afternoon of April 10, within the framework of the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM Hanoi 2025), the Vietnam Tourism Association held the VITA AWARDS 2025 award ceremony, honoring 69 individuals and 155 outstanding organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the development of the tourism industry in the past year.

Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association, said that VITA AWARDS was initiated in 2018 and has become an annual meeting place, recognizing the spirit of dedication, innovation and continuous creativity of the business community and workers in the tourism industry. This is also an opportunity to spread positive values, contributing to shaping a professional, dynamic and sustainable tourism industry.

“The award is also a strong affirmation of the pioneering role of tourism in the country's socio-economic development picture, gradually realizing the goal of turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector, in the spirit of Resolution 08-NQ/TW of the Politburo ,” the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association emphasized.

The Organizing Committee honored outstanding and typical leaders of the Tourism Association of provinces and cities in 2024.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee honored 10 typical tourism events in 2024 organized by the Vietnam Tourism Association, Tourism Associations of provinces and cities and affiliated associations; honored tourist areas and destinations that welcomed many visitors in 2024; outstanding and typical leaders of local tourism associations in 2024; honored directors of travel agencies, directors of hotels and resorts, outstanding chefs, the Tourism Journalists Club and 10 reporters from 10 press agencies, including reporter Nguyen Hoa, working at CAND Newspaper.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also launched an industry-wide competition program with the theme "Vietnam Tourism strives to enter a new era - the era of green transformation and digital transformation". The new point of the program is to specify the criteria of "green tourism" in each field such as travel, accommodation, cuisine and destinations, synchronously deployed to 59 local associations, 2 regional associations and 10 specialized associations. On this occasion, the Vietnam Tourism Association also called on tourism businesses to accelerate digital transformation, take the lead in modern technology, especially the application of artificial intelligence and robots to improve competitiveness, service quality and tourist experience. The program is expected to create a new momentum, making Vietnam tourism a pioneering economic sector, greener - smarter - more sustainable.
