Xuan Son shares with many emotions
After many days of waiting, striker Nguyen Xuan Son is about to make his debut for the Vietnamese national team. The International Football Federation (FIFA) has granted permission for the Brazilian striker to play for the national team from December 20, after having lived in Vietnam for 5 years. Thus, Xuan Son can make his debut in the match against Myanmar on the evening of December 21.
"I am very nervous and eager for tomorrow's match. It's true that the travel makes me very tired, but we are currently focused and working hard together to aim for victory," striker Nguyen Xuan Son affirmed.
Nguyen Xuan Son is ready!
Xuan Son has been involved in V-League since 2020 with a contract to play for Nam Dinh Club. He used to play for Nam Dinh, Da Nang , Binh Dinh, before returning to Nam Dinh last season. With 31 goals in 26 matches, Nguyen Xuan Son was the top scorer of V-League last season.
After a slow start to the season, Xuan Son has accelerated with 7 goals in 7 matches. He was named in the preliminary list by coach Kim Sang-sik, then on the shortlist of the Vietnam national team.
"This is a great moment and I feel happy to be in the Vietnamese national team jersey. I am very happy to receive the support of all team members. I will try to prepare well for tomorrow's match to bring joy to the fans," Xuan Son commented.

The Brazilian striker confirmed that he "has no specific idea" when asked how he will celebrate when scoring. However, he has prepared carefully for his debut, including singing the Vietnamese National Anthem.
"I am confident that I will be able to sing the National Anthem. I have practiced singing the National Anthem every day and always try my best for the fans," Xuan Son emphasized.
