On September 15, the Criminal Police Department (PC02) of Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that the unit had just dismantled a prostitution brokerage ring. Among them was a beauty queen (36 years old) caught red-handed selling sex for 200 million VND.

Because the name of the contest that this beauty queen won has many similarities with the contest that Miss Diem Huong was crowned. Therefore, Diem Huong spoke up to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.

Miss World Vietnam 2010 said she learned about the incident after many friends and colleagues texted her to ask.

"On the evening of September 14, I participated in judging the Miss Vietnam Beauty and Talent contest in Long An. If it were me, I would have been arrested yesterday. But at that time, I was still livestreaming and chatting with everyone normally. Currently, I am still attending my cousin's birthday party," Diem Huong confided.

She expressed surprise when she saw people continuously sending messages and calling her name with incorrect information.

Diem Huong said she was born in 1990 (33 years old), which does not match the information about the beauty queen being arrested for being part of a prostitution ring. At the same time, the 9X beauty was also indignant when the crown awarded to her in 2010 was used to illustrate this negative information.

Talking about the Miss World Vietnam contest, Diem Huong revealed: "I was crowned 13 years ago. I remember when Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong gave me the crown. The crown is now being used by everyone to illustrate that Miss who sells sex, my mother is keeping it carefully in the closet.

I affirm that in Vietnam there are only two Vietnamese Miss Worlds, me and Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan. Currently, I am still the reigning Miss World. Contests with the same name are all unofficial and unrecognized."

The beauty queen also expressed her frustration at the fact that there are too many beauty pageants nowadays, causing confusion in the names. Diem Huong admitted that she was panicked when many beauty pageants were born.

"In the past, a beauty pageant was held every two years. Nowadays, there are more than a dozen pageants a year. I have seen many companies own dozens of beauty queens. This has caused confusion and headaches in the names of the pageants. My Miss Vietnam World pageant at that time had the English name Miss Vietnam World," she said.

Diem Huong said that until now she is still the reigning Miss World Vietnamese because there is no successor.

The beauty queen said she had expressed her harsh attitude towards this information many times. Diem Huong revealed that she had once refused an invitation to go out for coffee for 40 thousand USD, so it is impossible that she would accept an invitation to go out for 200 million VND.

"I may lack a few million dollars, but I don't lack a few tens of thousands of dollars. However, if I lack one, I can still earn it myself. I have turned down tens of millions of dollars in the past, so there's no way I'd accept an offer of only a hundred million dollars," the beauty said.

Diem Huong was quite upset when the stories "fell from the sky" which greatly affected her reputation and honor. The beauty queen said that there were many rumors that she did not want to speak up about, but this time it affected her reputation so she had to speak up.

"I can divorce my husband, but this is legal. I have also dared to 'beat my chest' many times to affirm that I do not work as a prostitute. I hope everyone is selective and accepts accurate information," the beauty emphasized.

Diem Huong was crowned Miss World Vietnam 2010 , represented Vietnam in Miss Earth 2010 and entered the Top 14. She also participated in the Miss Universe 2012 contest in the US.

The beauty secretly married a real estate tycoon in 2011 and divorced in 2012. In 2015, she got married for the second time and had a son. She currently focuses on business and rarely participates in showbiz.
