According to MAUR, units recorded an increase in the number of passengers traveling on metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) on the evening of April 19.

Most metro passengers go to the areas to watch the high-altitude fireworks display at Saigon River Park (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) at 9:30 p.m.

Urban Railway Company No. 1 (the operator of the route) quickly coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport to adjust the running frequency to 8 minutes, extending the operating hours to 11 p.m. Commuters should pay attention to the train schedule on the night of April 19 for convenient and safe travel.

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City predicted that metro and bus passengers would change during the holiday peak, so it had planned appropriate services.

Specifically, on April 30, Metro Line 1 will increase from 200 to 240 trains on April 30 to serve people attending the ceremony and watching fireworks. Metro operation time is from 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a frequency of 8 - 10 - 12 minutes/trip.

Increase buses connecting T3 terminal on April 30 holiday

For bus operations, Ho Chi Minh City also adjusts the number of trips based on actual passenger demand.

Of which, Tan Son Nhat airport is expected to serve 120,000 passengers/day, an increase of 10% over the same period. Of which, about 800 passengers/day use buses. The evaluation center assessed that the official operation of the airport's T3 terminal as mentioned above also led to an increase in the demand for connecting by bus and taxi.

Currently, the current bus system basically meets the demand, so the center requires transport units to focus on operating at the prescribed frequency. In particular, the bus routes connecting T1 and T2 stations (routes 103 and 152) remain in operation.

As for T3 terminal, route 109 increased from 42 to 110 trips/day to serve the people. Ho Chi Minh City also connected the non-subsidized adjacent provincial bus route No. 72-1 (Tan Son Nhat airport - Vung Tau bus station with T3 terminal) to meet the travel needs of passengers.
