The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee said that in the first 3 months of 2024, there were 98 traffic accidents in the province, killing 65 people and injuring 65 people. Compared to the same period in 2023, there was an increase of 23 cases (up 30.7%), a decrease of 3 deaths (down 4.4%) and an increase of 28 injuries (up 75.7%).
Of these, the vehicles causing the most accidents were motorbikes with 69 cases (accounting for 70%), cars with 22 cases (accounting for 22%) and other vehicles with 7 cases (accounting for 8%). The routes where the accidents occurred were: on national highways passing through the province, 44 cases (nearly 44.9%), on rural roads, 33 cases (accounting for more than 33.7%), on inner-city roads, 14 cases (accounting for 14.2%) and on provincial roads, 7 cases (accounting for 7.2%).

Some of the main causes of traffic accidents include: not paying attention in 24 cases; changing direction without ensuring safety in 18 cases; driving in the wrong part of the road or lane in 14 cases; overtaking in violation of regulations in 9 cases and some other causes...
Through patrol and control work, the Traffic Police force in the whole province detected and recorded 17,455 cases of violations in the field of road traffic, temporarily detained 6,120 vehicles of all kinds, fined 11,234 cases, and collected 26 billion VND for the State Treasury.
Notably, through thematic handling of violations, the authorities detected and handled 5,605 cases of speeding violations; 4,812 cases of alcohol concentration violations; 532 cases of vehicle load and cargo size violations; and 41 cases of driving with drugs in the body.
