Located about 30km from the center of Bac Yen district, Xim Vang is a wild land, with more than 570 households of Mong ethnic people living. Among the places to "hunt" for the golden season in the Northwest, Xim Vang is a place worth going because this is one of the localities with the largest and most beautiful terraced fields in the Bac Yen highlands.
Mr. Thanh Nam (22 years old, Hanoi ) and his friends came to Xim Vang at the end of August. They said that the terraced fields are layer upon layer on the mountain slopes, and the air is always fresh and cool.
The terrain here is majestic with winding roads, towering mountains, Xim Vang makes any visitor impressed as soon as they set foot here.
Interspersed among that majesty, streams flow from the great forest, winding and bringing cool water in all directions, making Xim Vang extremely poetic.
Not as crowded as Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai) or Hoang Su Phi ( Ha Giang ), visitors to Xim Vang do not have to wait to take pictures, because this place is still wild and peaceful.
Mr. Thanh Nam shared that Xim Vang is a hunting spot for “green season” or “golden season” in the Northwest that is worth experiencing. This place has wild beauty, nature is full of vitality, and visitors can watch the peaceful life and work of the highland people.
The harvest season in Xim Vang usually starts from late September to late October, depending on when people plant rice. Currently, the terraced fields are gradually turning yellow, but the weather is still light and cool, so people have not harvested yet. Many landslides caused by floods have been cleared, and the roads are clear.
In Xim Vang, in addition to being amazed by the magnificent nature, visitors cannot help but be surprised to know that the beautiful natural picture before their eyes, more than 40 years ago was just a remote, barren, sparse land. The efforts of the people here have turned the land of "dogs eating stones, chickens eating gravel" into a place with green rice seasons, or golden seasons, with the fragrant smoke of new sticky rice.
Xim Vang is 18km from Ta Xua center, the road is quite easy to travel. Tourists can rent a room in Ta Xua and plan to explore both places. However, the main road down to Mam Xoi Hill is quite steep, tourists need to be careful when moving.
In addition, visitors coming to Xim Vang during the upcoming holiday need to check the weather in advance to have the safest and most complete gold hunting trip.
