Seminar on building Peace City in Quang Tri

On June 30, 2024, in Hanoi, the Institute for Development of Technology and Culture - Education (TCE Institute) organized a seminar with the theme: Towards building a Peaceful City in Quang Tri. Scientists, cultural researchers, former officials of the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Hanoi Pedagogical University, Hanoi University of Culture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, Institute of Literature... attended the seminar.

The discussion content revolved around two topics: Building a Peace City on Quang Tri land and a national scientific conference on building a Peace City on Quang Tri land.

Through that, researchers and scientists focused on analyzing and came to the conclusion: the issue of building a Peace City on Quang Tri land has cultural significance of national and international significance. This is the humanistic aspiration of the Vietnamese people and peace lovers in the world.

A national scientific conference on building a Peace City in Quang Tri should be held in the fall of 2024 based on the coordination between the TCE Institute and many units from local to central levels, relevant agencies at home and abroad. This is even more meaningful when aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification on April 30 (1975 - 2025).

People's Teacher - Professor, Doctor Dinh Quang Bao affirmed: Quang Tri is the place where the world sees the most expensive price for peace. Historical researcher Ngo Huu Minh said: It has been 50 years since the country was unified, but we have not had a large-scale cultural project in Quang Tri to show all generations the full significance of the Vietnam War, we are guilty to history, to the people, to those who sacrificed.

Dr. Tran Minh Chinh affirmed: There is a need for a national cultural relic to exist in Quang Tri in the current context.

Dr. Cao Viet Sinh, former Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, emphasized: It is very necessary to have a national scientific conference on building a Peace City in Quang Tri; after organizing the conference, there must be a project submitted to the leaders of Quang Tri province, then submit it to the Prime Minister, then the dream of a Peace City in Quang Tri will come true.

At the end of the discussion, Dr. Nguyen Ai Hoc, Director of the TCE Institute, thanked the participating opinions and affirmed that the opinions of researchers and scientists will be received and selected to guide the content of the National Scientific Conference on building a Peaceful City in Quang Tri in the coming time.
