In the past, Buon Don district, Lak was famous for hunting and taming wild elephants, which became a profession closely associated with the material and spiritual life of the people here. After the elephants were brought back, they would be tamed, and when brought to the village, a ceremony would be held to welcome the elephants into the village with solemn rituals according to tradition. From then on, the elephants were considered a member of the family and the village. Therefore, the culture of elephants in the community life of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands in general and Dak Lak in particular is very diverse and vivid.

Currently, there are very few elephants in Dak Lak, with only 14 left in Lak district, so the issue of preserving them from the risk of extinction is very necessary. During the discussion, delegates from Lak district not only shared about raising and taming elephants but also expressed their feelings about raising elephants in the current situation, giving some ideas on creating an environment for elephants to continue to live and develop; converting the elephant riding tourism model to elephant-friendly tourism...
Through the discussion, artists have more materials and documents to serve their creations; at the same time, it also helps the locality have more opinions in elephant conservation and promoting cultural elements about elephants in local tourism.
