Seminar "Socio-economic development associated with strengthening and consolidating national defense, security and foreign affairs"

On the afternoon of July 18, in Vinh city, Nghe An province, a delegation of cadres, lecturers and students of the 96th course of national defense and security knowledge training course of the Vietnam National Defense Academy held a seminar on "Socio-economic development associated with strengthening and consolidating national defense, security and foreign affairs".

The seminar aims to grasp and exchange information on the situation of economic, cultural and social development; the implementation of combining economic development with strengthening and consolidating national defense, security and foreign affairs; maintaining stability of border and island sovereignty and security, order and social safety in the area; building a comprehensive national defense, an all-people national defense posture associated with a people's security posture to meet the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

In addition to the opinions wishing to grasp more from the practical situation of Nghe An such as: strengths and weaknesses in economic development associated with strengthening national defense and security; the building of national defense potentials, especially political and spiritual potentials... the students also suggested that the province exchange content on military recruitment; building defense zones; building combat bases, rear bases, technical logistics bases at the provincial and district levels; building commune-level military command headquarters and commune-level police headquarters; experience of the 5 "ready" in attracting investment, especially experience in site clearance to create clean land for industrial development; ensuring national defense and security in the process of economic development, especially marine economy; the issue of teaching foreign languages ​​in the highlands...

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy highly appreciated the delegation's useful comments and suggestions, thereby contributing to the province's better performance of its tasks; at the same time, he further analyzed the conditions, context, viewpoints, and implementation results of the issues that the delegation was interested in.

Referring to the strengths of economic development associated with strengthening national defense and security of the province, comrade Thai Thanh Quy emphasized: In order to build a solid position of people's hearts, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee always maintain and promote the spirit of solidarity and unity, thereby creating a spread and consensus of support among the people. In addition to forming relatively good infrastructure foundations and connections with all types of transportation, thereby opening up development corridors, in recent years, the province has also pursued consistent development perspectives: focusing on strong economic development in the East to lead the development of the West of the province; effectively mobilizing resources, especially socialized resources to take care of social security, especially in the West; allocating resources with focus and key points to soon complete and promote effectiveness, avoiding spreading.

Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy also affirmed that a great advantage of the province is that Military Region 4 is located in the area, so the province's problems are always participated in, assisted, and quickly resolved by the Military Region, especially procedures for attracting investment.

Senior Lieutenant General Tran Viet Khoa, member of the Party Central Committee, Director of the National Defense Academy delivered a concluding speech at the seminar.

Concluding the discussion, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Viet Khoa, Director of the National Defense Academy, acknowledged and congratulated Nghe An on its socio-economic development results. With achievements and results in specific figures, the Director of the National Defense Academy believes that Nghe An will successfully complete the goals and targets of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, creating a basis and premise to prepare well for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.

Officers and students of the armed forces of the 96th National Defense and Security Knowledge Training Course presented the Adoption Program of border posts on the Nghe An border line.

On this occasion, the Vietnam National Defense Academy donated 50 million VND to the Nghe An Province Education Promotion Fund. Officers and students of the 96th National Defense and Security Knowledge Training Course donated 150 million VND to the Adoption Program of Border Guard Stations on the Nghe An border.
