On the morning of October 18, the National Assembly's Ethnic Council Working Group led by Comrade Quàng Văn Hương, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, surveyed the implementation of ethnic policies in Ninh Binh.
During the program, the Working Group visited Khanh Ninh village, Yen Son commune, Tam Diep city and Met village, Ky Phu commune, Nho Quan district.
At the survey points, the Working Group discussed with local authorities on the implementation of policies on land, support for economic development, health, education, culture... for ethnic minorities. At the same time, they listened to the thoughts, aspirations and suggestions of the households.
Accordingly, Yen Son commune (Tam Diep city) has 8.3% of the population being ethnic minorities; and Ky Phu commune (Nho Quan district), the proportion of ethnic minorities accounts for over 68% of the population. In both localities, the ethnic minorities are mainly Muong, with a small number of Thai, Meo, San Riu...

At the working session with the Survey Team, representatives of ethnic minority households in localities made proposals such as: supporting health insurance cards, reducing the contribution level when participating in voluntary social insurance for ethnic people; having a separate preferential credit policy, creating capital sources for ethnic people to develop the economy; increasing investment in infrastructure for ethnic minority and mountainous areas...
Through on-site research in localities and discussions with leaders of Tam Diep city and Nho Quan district, the Working Group noted: Ethnic policies in surveyed localities have been given attention and well implemented by Party committees and authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations.

This has helped create jobs, increase incomes of ethnic minorities, contribute to socio-economic development, and reduce poverty. Ethnic minorities have received attention and care from local Party committees and authorities in terms of material and spiritual life; creating favorable conditions for ethnic people to preserve and promote cultural values and good customs. The majority of ethnic people have stable lives and economic development.
The representative of the Working Group said: The information in Ninh Binh province is the practical basis for the Working Group to synthesize and complete the drafting of the project to study and synchronize ethnic policies in the policy and legal system according to the Party's resolutions and the 2013 Constitution. At the same time, grasp the difficulties and shortcomings in implementing ethnic policies in the locality to continue advising the National Assembly.

On this occasion, the Working Group presented gifts to 10 ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances and local Party committees and authorities; with the hope that ethnic minority households will continue to unite, comply with the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, encourage their children to study hard, develop the economy and preserve their unique cultural identity; request local Party committees and authorities to continue to pay attention and implement ethnic policies well.
