Catalys Foundation gives 140 gifts to the poor in Can Tho

On April 9, the volunteer group of Catalys Foundation in collaboration with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City and the Union of Friendship Organizations of the city presented 140 gifts to patients with serious illnesses, women's union members, and excellent students from poor, near-poor, and extremely disadvantaged households in the city.

Each gift given by the delegation is worth 500,000 VND including rice and essential necessities. In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho city supports an additional 500,000 VND in cash.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, sincerely thanked the volunteer group of Catalys Foundation for visiting and supporting practical gifts for people in difficult circumstances. Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan said that this humanitarian activity has contributed to strengthening the cooperative and sharing relationship between international and local organizations, and at the same time, providing more resources for the city to better care for disadvantaged communities.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, in recent times, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of the city have coordinated with the city's departments and branches to carry out many practical activities to support poor households to escape poverty, contributing to the effective implementation of the emulation movement "Can Tho joins hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind".

In 2024 and the first months of 2025, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations have mobilized resources inside and outside the city to implement many social security activities such as: building solidarity houses, responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in the city; providing livelihood support, giving gifts to the poor, poor patients, disabled children and children who overcome difficulties to study well... In particular, responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", Can Tho city is implementing the construction of 531 houses for meritorious families, poor and near-poor households with the determination to basically complete them by April 25, 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Volunteer Group will continue to carry out more meaningful social security activities in Can Tho city, contributing to spreading the spirit of humanity and community cohesion.
