TKV: 30-year journey to become a strong State-owned economic group

After 30 years of construction and development, TKV has become a strong State-owned economic group, one of the three pillars ensuring national energy security, playing an important role in the development of the country. On the morning of October 9, at TKV headquarters (No. 3, Duong Dinh Nghe, Hanoi), Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group ( TKV ) solemnly held the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam National Coal Corporation, now Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (October 10, 1994 - October 10, 2024).

The commemorative speech by Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the TQN Party Committee, Deputy General Director of the Group reviewed the 30-year journey of formation, construction and development since the establishment of Vietnam National Coal Corporation on October 10, 1994, now the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group with many difficulties and hardships but also full of glory and pride. Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, formerly Vietnam National Coal Corporation, was established on October 10, 1994 under the decision of the Prime Minister. With the attention of the Party, State, Government, ministries, departments and central branches, the coordination of localities, partners and customers, under the direct leadership and direction of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, of the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises, the continuous efforts of generations of leaders and workers, the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" has been promoted, overcoming difficulties and challenges, gradually transforming and developing, from the foundation of a State Corporation, after 30 years of construction and development, TKV has become a strong State economic group, one of the three pillars ensuring national energy security, playing an important role in the development of the country. TKV's total assets by the end of 2023 increased more than 97 times compared to the year of establishment, preserving and developing state capital; Revenue has grown remarkably with an average growth rate of 18%/year (in 1995, revenue was 2,500 billion, by 2023, revenue reached 170,000 billion); pre-tax profit from 40 billion VND in 1995 to 6,000 billion VND in 2023; state budget contribution in 1995 reached 120 billion VND, in 2023 reached 29,000 billion VND; current average salary reached over 17 million VND/person-month, of which miners reached over 21 million VND/person-month. Thanks to effective production and business, TKV has contributed significantly to the state budget, especially in Quang Ninh province - TKV's strategic production area. In production and business, TKV has accelerated the development of the coal industry, meeting the coal demand of the economy; Effective application of mechanization - automation - computerization in management, operation and production and business; the mineral sector is developed in the direction of increasing deep processing, notably the successful implementation of two pilot projects of Bauxite mining in the Central Highlands; successful development of the fields of electricity, industrial materials, mechanics, construction materials based on the coal industry. With its contributions to the country, TKV is honored to be awarded by the Party and State with noble titles such as the Gold Star Medal, Hero of Labor in the renovation period...

Congratulating and praising the achievements of TKV over the 30 years of construction and development, comrade Ho Sy Hung - Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at the enterprise emphasized that these achievements were thanks to the continuous efforts and solidarity of employees through the periods. TKV today is a traditional enterprise with 180 years of history in the Vietnam Coal industry, growing to create the position and responsibility of a key economic group, preserving and developing state capital, contributing to the development of localities where TKV operates as well as the whole country. In response to the demand for rapid and sustainable development, TKV needs to pay attention to researching and renovating the growth model; constantly innovating, effectively applying 3-industry, digital transformation, increasing the competitiveness of enterprises; implementing well the work of occupational safety and health, protecting the environment, ensuring harmony with the strategy of green and sustainable development; focusing on training and developing human resources, building a team of highly qualified workers; building a strong political system

On behalf of the Group's leaders, Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TKV Group expressed his deep gratitude for the attention and direction of the leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, and the State Management Committee at the enterprise; the coordination and support of localities, partners, and customers. At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to the souls of the miners who sacrificed for the cause of coal and mineral production, and generations of cadres and workers of all periods in the whole Group who have tirelessly devoted themselves to the development of TKV. Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of TKV Group, Ngo Hoang Ngan, emphasized: " The road ahead is full of difficulties and challenges, requiring TKV to make breakthroughs, develop strongly, and perform well the tasks assigned by the Party and the State; continue to promote the tradition of "Discipline and Unity", unite and unanimously build TKV to develop sustainably, contributing more to the development of the country".

On this occasion, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the State Management Committee at enterprises for its outstanding achievements in work, contributing to the development of the Committee and a banner on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its establishment; 23 collectives were honored to receive the emulation flag of the State Management Committee at enterprises for their outstanding achievements in leading the emulation in 2023; 17 collectives received certificates of merit from the Group for their achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam National Coal Corporation, now TKV Group; 16 workshops and teams received the emulation flag to reward the Group's leading productivity.
