The 2024 Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province takes place for 7 days (from November 16 to 22, 2024) in the central area of ​​Vinh Long city and the brick and ceramic production village of Thay Cai canal, Mang Thit district.


On the afternoon of October 28, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province held a meeting to provide information on the plan to organize the Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province in 2024.

According to the People's Committee of Vinh Long province, the Red Brick and Pottery Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province in 2024 will be organized by Vinh Long province, with the participation and direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union .

The 2024 Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province will be organized on a regional scale in the Mekong Delta, inviting Ho Chi Minh City and some provinces and cities in the Central and Northern regions to participate.

The event will take place over 7 days (from November 16 to 22, 2024), in the central area of ​​Vinh Long City and the brick and pottery production village of Thay Cai Canal, Mang Thit District.

The event created conditions for Vinh Long province to promote and advertise the potentials, advantages, and exploit tourism in Mang Thit brick and pottery village - a famous and unique craft village in the region.

At the same time, create conditions for localities and other provinces and cities to participate in the festival, exhibition, introduce and promote achievements, potentials and strengths in various fields, thereby contributing to attracting investment, strengthening regional linkages, and seeking opportunities to spread to domestic and foreign markets.

The event also aims to contribute to promoting economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation to achieve economic prosperity and environmental sustainability.

The Red Brick and Pottery Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province has main activities such as: fairs, exhibitions of industry, trade, agriculture, tourism with a scale of 700-800 booths; conference activities, seminars, competitions of the agriculture and rural development, industry and trade, culture, sports and tourism sectors, related to green economy and sustainable development; exhibition space, experience space to learn about brick and pottery production villages; organize performances and set a Vietnamese record of 102 dishes made from tofu and served with tofu for the first time in Vietnam.

With the above rich and diverse activities, the Red Brick and Pottery Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province promises to bring visitors interesting experiences about the land of Vinh Long - Southern rendezvous, the unique cultural heritage values ​​of the Red Kingdom.

The Mang Thit brick and pottery kiln system is hundreds of years old, known as the largest and most famous red brick and pottery production site in the Mekong Delta, exported to many countries around the world. Vinh Long province is renovating and investing in this place to become a "Mang Thit Contemporary Heritage", after completion this will become a highlight for tourism development, as well as preserving the traditional cultural values ​​of the community.

In addition, the People's Council of Vinh Long province has just approved the master plan for the construction of Mang Thit brick and pottery kiln area until 2045. Accordingly, Mang Thit brick and pottery kiln area will be a key tourist area of ​​the province, oriented to be a national tourist area.

The planning scope and boundaries are located on the heritage area of ​​My An, My Phuoc, Nhon Phu and Hoa Tinh communes, with an area size of about 3,060 hectares. This is a tourist area that plays an important role in promoting socio-economic development for Vinh Long province and tourism in the Mekong Delta region.
