Provincial Party Committee meets on project to renovate and rearrange administrative units

This morning, April 21, Comrade Nguyen Duy Lam - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired meetings to listen to and give opinions on the Project to restore and embellish the Memorial Site of General Secretary Tran Phu, the Memorial Site of General Secretary Ha Huy Tap and contents related to the arrangement of commune-level administrative units.

Attending the meeting were comrade Tran The Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Vo Trong Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee.

Overview of the meeting that took place this morning

Currently, the General Secretary Tran Phu Memorial Site and the General Secretary Ha Huy Tap Memorial Site have many damaged and degraded items. Ha Tinh has developed a project to restore and embellish these two memorial sites, in which the current status, items that need to be restored and embellished, and investment phases in 2025 and 2026 have been clearly assessed. Solutions for restoration and embellishment are based on preserving the original relics. Currently, the Central Party Secretariat has given opinions on the project on the scale, investment capital, and investment phase; the expected funding source is supported by the Central Government, the Hanoi Party Committee, and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and gave opinions on the project to renovate and embellish the two memorial sites of General Secretary Tran Phu and General Secretary Ha Huy Tap and contents related to the arrangement of commune-level administrative units.

Regarding the arrangement of commune-level administrative units, Ha Tinh has developed a draft plan to arrange 209 commune-level administrative units based on principles and criteria, in accordance with the Central's orientation and in accordance with local realities; thereby, promoting potential, advantages, cultural characteristics, creating development space for new commune-level administrative units. Regarding the orientation of developing the arrangement plan, it is to closely follow the viewpoints and principles, based on local realities, creating space and room for development for new administrative units. Accordingly, the draft plan to arrange 209 current commune-level administrative units into 70 new commune-level administrative units, reducing 139 commune-level administrative units.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Lam chaired a meeting to give opinions on the project to restore the memorial site and the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units.

Concluding the meetings, Comrade Nguyen Duy Lam - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized the significance and urgency of the restoration and embellishment of the General Secretary Tran Phu Memorial Site and the General Secretary Ha Huy Tap Memorial Site. At the same time, he assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission to coordinate with the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, agencies and units to complete the project to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for appraisal of related contents according to regulations.

Along with that, deploy related tasks before approving the project; after approving the project, it is necessary to urgently complete documents, legal procedures, review, and assign specific tasks to each related unit and individual to deploy the next steps, ensuring that the restoration and embellishment work is carried out on schedule and ensures quality.

Regarding the arrangement of commune-level administrative units, Comrade Nguyen Duy Lam - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the Provincial Party Committee for directing the Department of Home Affairs, relevant sectors and localities to review and complete the plan to ensure compliance with the Central's instructions and local conditions. At the same time, he requested the Provincial Party Committee to continue directing relevant departments, sectors and agencies to absorb opinions at the meeting, promote collective intelligence to review and complete the plan to ensure quality; create new development space for localities after the arrangement.

Along with that, continue to focus on propaganda work on guiding viewpoints, planned arrangement plans, principles for selecting names of administrative units after the merger, creating high consensus among cadres, party members, and people; Well implement the work of collecting people's opinions on the arrangement plan of commune-level administrative units./
