Humanity of policy credit programs in Gia Lai

Thời báo Ngân hàngThời báo Ngân hàng25/12/2024

In recent times, social policy credit programs have not only been a financial tool but also a torch to light the way for those who have lost their way in life. People who have made mistakes, stumbled and experienced challenges can now regain their faith and restore their lives with the help of policy credit programs. In Gia Lai province, preferential credit is not only a financial tool but also a clear manifestation of humanity in supporting the community. Especially for vulnerable groups such as: poor households, ethnic minorities and people who have completed their prison sentences...

Support for people who have completed their prison sentences

In Ayun Pa town, Gia Lai province, these credit programs not only provide economic development opportunities but also serve as a bridge for people who have made mistakes to reintegrate into the community, overcome their inferiority complex and rise up to rebuild their lives.

The story of those who have completed their prison sentences at Ayun Pa is not just the story of one person, but the story of many people who made mistakes in the past and are now trying to rebuild their lives. They are like birds released from cages, but still carry old wounds, psychological problems and most importantly, lack of finance to rebuild their lives. It is at this time that the policy credit programs implemented by the Gia Lai branch of the Social Policy Bank become the strong wings that help them fly higher and further.

Policy credit for people who have completed their prison sentences creates conditions for those who have made mistakes to stabilize their lives.

The story of Mr. Tran Anh Dung, a man who made mistakes, after completing a 20-month prison sentence for gambling, returned to his hometown with worries about the future. Although Mr. Dung's house is located right in the center of the town market, he has no capital, not enough to expand his business. The local government, like his companions, came to him, supporting the procedures so that he could borrow 90 million VND from the town's Social Policy Bank.

This loan was the resource for Mr. Dung to open a coffee shop, thereby stepping out of the darkness of the past, rebuilding life, not only for himself but also for his family. “The support and help from the government and the People’s Credit Fund is like an invisible source of energy, giving me the strength to move forward,” Mr. Dung shared, his eyes sparkling with hope.

Similarly, the story of Nguyen Huy Hoang is an example of tireless striving. After serving his prison term for intentional injury, Hoang faced difficulties without a stable job.

However, the local government and the ward police did not leave him alone in the fight against poverty. The agencies and organizations not only helped Mr. Hoang access preferential loans of 100 million VND but also encouraged him and helped him regain his faith. Investing in sugarcane land, Mr. Hoang built a new business and more than that, he overcame his inferiority complex and self-esteem, and found his self-worth in the community.

Households that borrowed capital from policy credit programs used it for the right purposes, organized production effectively, and improved their lives.

Without companionship, a loan alone is not enough for a person to rise up. Local authorities and socio-political organizations are like friends, helping people who have stumbled overcome challenges.

In Cheo Reo Ward, the local government and police quickly took action, screening, making lists and proactively approaching families with people who had completed their prison sentences. The units are not only those who support loan procedures but also those who guide and show the way for those who seek opportunities to change their lives.

Help people escape poverty

Policy credit programs in Ayun Pa town (Gia Lai) not only help people who have completed their prison sentences but also support thousands of poor and near-poor households in the area. Preferential loans, like "life buoys", help poor households overcome the "ocean of difficulties" and reach the shore of financial independence.

Ms. Ksor H'Trem, a woman who once faced illness and the worry of raising three orphaned grandchildren, escaped poverty thanks to a VND20 million loan from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies. That loan, like a seedling, has blossomed into a prosperous field when Ms. Ksor H'Trem raises breeding cows, providing her family with a stable source of income.

Or like Mrs. Nay H'Kron in Ia Sao commune, a woman who overcame difficulties to rebuild her life thanks to a loan of 70 million VND from the bank. From breeding cows and land for growing trees, Mrs. Nay H'Kron has not only built up her family's economy but also helped society become a model of tireless efforts. With a stable source of income, her family not only escaped poverty but also became a good business household in the locality.

Policy credit in Gia Lai is widely deployed, not only in communes, remote areas but also in the most difficult areas.

Through success stories, it is undeniable that policy credit programs bring positive signals. Thanks to preferential capital, many households in Ayun Pa town have changed their lives, creating a solid foundation for their families and communities. The Ayun Pa town Social Policy Bank Transaction Office has disbursed more than 1 billion VND to 12 cases of people who have completed their prison sentences, helping those who have failed to start businesses and stabilize their lives. Credit programs not only help develop production, but also help change perceptions, eliminate feelings of inferiority and self-consciousness, thereby contributing to social development.

Mr. Le Van Chi, Director of the Gia Lai Provincial Bank for Social Policies, affirmed that the policy credit programs have invested in the right subjects, achieving clear results. Since the implementation of Directive No. 40, policy credit has been widely deployed, not only in communes, remote areas but also in the most difficult areas, helping poor households and policy beneficiaries have the opportunity to access capital. Borrowers have used the capital for the right purposes, organized production effectively, improved their lives, and paid their debts on time, thereby contributing to the creation of a sustainable community.

The policy credit programs in Gia Lai are a vivid demonstration of the humanity in social policy. People who have made mistakes and stumbled can now rise up and rebuild their lives thanks to timely assistance from the government, banks and organizations. The loans are not just money, but also faith, hope and opportunities for them to start over. Their future, as well as that of the community, will be built from these humane actions.
