The Propaganda Department of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee has just provided information related to the construction of new halls, meeting rooms and offices of agencies under the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee.
According to the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the location for the construction of the Conference Hall, meeting rooms and offices of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee's agencies was previously the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department. This place was originally the Kon Tum Provincial Administration Building, built in 1960-1961, not the old Kon Tum Provincial Governor's Palace. The Kon Tum Provincial Governor's Palace is located behind this building. After the liberation and reunification of the country, the Kon Tum Provincial Government took over and has been using it until now.
Kon Tum Administrative Building before being demolished
Over time, the building has deteriorated and does not meet working conditions. This building has not been recognized as a historical and cultural relic and Kon Tum province has not yet had a policy to put the building on the list of buildings in need of preservation.
Currently, the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee headquarters has two conference halls with 50 and 80 seats. However, these conference halls are relatively small, with inconsistent equipment, and do not meet the requirements for organizing meetings, especially working sessions with the Central Committee, expanded Provincial Party Committee conferences, and key officials conferences, etc.
In addition, the offices of the advisory and support agencies of the Provincial Party Committee have degraded, the infrastructure is not equipped in a synchronous, backward, and outdated manner... The State Audit also requested the implementation of rearrangement and handling of state-owned land.
Kon Tum Province sees that in order to better serve the meetings of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, especially the working sessions with the Central Committee, key cadre conferences, in accordance with the architectural space and general aesthetics of the campus in the Provincial Party Committee headquarters, the construction of a new Provincial Party Committee hall and working headquarters for the advisory and support agencies of the Provincial Party Committee is extremely necessary and consistent with the implementation of the above project.
Kon Tum province believes that building a new headquarters is necessary.
After construction is completed, this will be the workplace for the advisory and support agencies of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee. The old offices will be rearranged and real estate will be handled according to regulations.
Meanwhile, writer Ta Van Sy, who is known as the "living dictionary" of Kon Tum province, said that Kon Tum province has had many historical structures demolished, such as the old Hoang Dao School (one of the first schools in Kon Tum province), the Dong tree line... demolished. "When I decided to demolish the Kon Tum Administrative Building to build a new headquarters, I knew there were many opposing opinions. If I asked for people's opinions, no one would agree. Because if they were demolished, Kon Tum province would have very few structures that are meaningful as historical construction heritages," said writer Ta Van Sy.
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sam, Vice Chairman of Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision approving the investment project to build a new conference hall, meeting rooms and offices of the Provincial Party Committee's advisory agencies with a total cost of over 128 billion VND. To build the above project, the Kon Tum Provincial Administration Building must be demolished.
