On the morning of June 1, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the regular Government meeting for May 2024, discussing many important contents.
The meeting focused on discussing the socio-economic situation in May and the first 5 months of the year, the implementation of 3 national target programs, disbursement of public investment capital; key directions and management in June and the coming time.
In his opening speech, reviewing some highlights of May and the first 5 months of 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that despite difficulties, growth in all 3 sectors of industry, agriculture and services was promoted.

The macro economy is basically stable, inflation is under control, major balances are ensured, including proactive plans to ensure electricity supply during hot weather (although electricity consumption reached a record of over 1 billion KW/day).
Strategic infrastructure projects in transportation and energy are being promoted.
Besides the basic results, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to frankly acknowledge that there are still limitations, inadequacies, difficulties and challenges, especially the complicated situation of food poisoning, fires and explosions, and crimes.
The Prime Minister asked delegates to focus on discussions in the spirit of reflecting "the correct situation, the correct nature, the correct results", creating new momentum, new motivation, and new victories.
In which, clearly identify what has been done, what has not been done, the causes and lessons learned.
Regarding the situation in June and the coming time, it is necessary to evaluate and determine what mechanisms, policies and solutions are needed, focus on which areas, clarify and propose specific solutions to promptly overcome the limitations, inadequacies and weaknesses that National Assembly deputies mentioned at the ongoing 7th session.
