Bac Ninh province sets another record when clearing land and handing over more than 204 hectares of agricultural land to build Gia Binh Airport.

The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued a decision on handing over 204,338.1 square meters of land (phase 2), equivalent to over 204 hectares in Xuan Lai commune, Gia Binh district to the Mobile Police Command - Ministry of Public Security to build Gia Binh Airport.

According to this decision, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province assigned ^204,338.1m2 of land (phase 2) in Xuan Lai commune, Gia Binh district to the Mobile Police Command - Ministry of Public Security to build Gia Binh Airport.

The location and boundaries of the land are determined according to the cadastral map extracts established by the Bac Ninh Provincial Land Registration Office on March 10, 2025.

The perspective of Gia Binh airport gate is inspired by the idea of ​​a kite, representing the culture of the Northern Delta in general and Bac Ninh province in particular.

At the same time, Bac Ninh province requires: Gia Binh District People's Committee; Gia Binh District Compensation, Support and Resettlement Council; Xuan Lai Commune People's Committee; Gia Binh District Construction Project Management Board to be responsible before the law for land that has completed site clearance (including moving graves, moving power lines, etc.); accuracy and honesty about land origin, land type and compensation and support results at the project according to regulations.

Assign the Department of Agriculture and Environment to determine boundaries and hand over land on the field; direct the Bac Ninh Provincial Land Registration Office to update and correct land databases and cadastral records according to regulations.

The Gia Binh Airport construction project was initially intended to train the air defense force of the Mobile Police Command with an area of ​​125 hectares. However, after many adjustments, Gia Binh Airport in Bac Ninh was officially planned for civil exploitation and became Gia Binh International Airport.

Specifically, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) approved the addition of Gia Binh airport in Gia Binh district, Bac Ninh province to the National Airport System Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. The estimated investment cost according to the planning is nearly 30,000 billion VND.

Gia Binh Airport is planned with a scale and airport level of 4E; the expected design capacity is about 1.0 million passengers/year in the period of 2021 - 2030 and about 3.0 million passengers/year with a vision to 2050.

The planned land area is about 363.5 hectares. The estimated investment cost according to the planning is about 17,682 billion VND for the period 2021 - 2030 and about 12,083 billion VND with a vision to 2050.

After that, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) continued to plan to add Gia Binh dry port to the airport area. Bac Ninh province also proposed to add a logistics area and cargo handling area attached to the airport. Currently, the total land area occupied by the airport and auxiliary areas can be up to 546.5 hectares. At the same time, Bac Ninh province also reserves land for expansion if necessary.

At the same time, the Prime Minister also held a meeting and concluded on the implementation of the construction of the route connecting Gia Binh airport with the center of Hanoi according to the criteria of the shortest, fastest and cheapest and will be the most beautiful route in Vietnam. The route has a planned length of 49.5km with the starting point in Tan Lang commune, Luong Tai district (Bac Ninh province) and passing through Gia Binh district, Luong Tai district, Thuan Thanh town (Bac Ninh province); Gia Lam district, Dong Anh district (Hanoi city) and connecting through Tu Lien bridge, ending at the end point in Tay Ho area (Hanoi). The typical cross-section of the route is 120m wide. Site clearance must be completed before June 30.

Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan said that this is a century project, so the site clearance work must be focused on and resolved as quickly as possible. It is expected that the site clearance of the entire area of ​​phase 2 (nearly 240 hectares) must be completed before April 30. Thus, with 204 hectares assigned in phase 2, the site clearance of Bac Ninh province has been completed by 85% - a record for site clearance in Bac Ninh province.

Gia Binh Airport was officially started on December 10, 2024 by Sungroup Corporation, and the entire phase 1 is expected to be completed after 12 months of construction (ie the end of 2025). The entire project will be completed in 2026. Meanwhile, the entire route connecting Gia Binh Airport with the center of Hanoi must also be completed after 2 years of construction (expected to start after June 30).
