Shrimp exports increase sharply at the end of the year
After many months of slow operations, shrimp exports increased sharply in the last 3 months of the year.
Mr. Vo Van Phuc - General Director of Vietnam Clean Seafood Joint Stock Company, said that since the beginning of September, shrimp exports to traditional markets have increased by about 40% compared to the same period.
The reason, according to Mr. Phuc, is that inventories in many countries have run out, and shrimp exports are forecast to continue to grow positively in the last month of the year.

Usually, when shrimp export value increases strongly, the price of raw shrimp will increase accordingly. However, in the largest shrimp farming area in the country, the Mekong Delta, the price of raw shrimp has only increased slightly recently.
Mr. Ly Thuan, a shrimp buyer in Soc Trang, said that although it is the off-season and there is not much shrimp left, the price fluctuations are not significant. According to Mr. Thuan, depending on the size of the shrimp, the current price has only increased by 5,000 - 10,000 VND/kg compared to two months ago.
