Vietnam Social Security: Will combine two months of pension payment
Vietnam Social Security has just announced the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for the two months of January and February 2025. Specifically, this agency will provide funds to provinces and cities for the payment of pensions and benefits in January 2025, including both cash recipients and recipients through personal accounts.
Vietnam Social Security requires provincial Social Security to report to local Party committees and authorities on the above pension and allowance payment plan and ensure full and timely implementation.

The provincial social insurance sector transfers funds and coordinates with the provincial post office to notify and pay pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February of 2025 at the same payment period as January-February 2025.

The results of the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels in the 2023-2025 period have newly established Hue city under the central government.

Foreign capital flows strongly into Vietnam real estate
In a recently released report, the HSBC Vietnam expert team said that Vietnam continues to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) as the basic outlook remains positive.
Although newly registered FDI growth slowed in the third quarter, non-manufacturing sectors such as real estate and energy saw an increase in investment.
FDI disbursement in Vietnam in the first 11 months of 2024 is estimated at 21.68 billion USD, up 7.1% over the same period last year. This is also the third consecutive year that Vietnam has achieved FDI disbursement of over 20 billion USD, according to HSBC.

The report also shows that intra-ASEAN investments are leading the way, accounting for 40% of inflows to date. Existing FDI enterprises continue to make commitments to invest additional project capital, supporting Vietnam’s expanding production capacity.
“Foreign investment in the real estate sector has also increased in recent months. This may be supported by the revised Land Law that came into effect in August, standardizing some regulations to boost demand,” HSBC experts assessed.
Looking ahead, FDI inflows into the manufacturing sector are also likely to continue to grow, with General Secretary To Lam’s recent visit to the United States sparking investment interest from companies such as Meta.
Shunsin, a subsidiary of Foxconn, is said to have applied for an investment license of US$80 million to produce integrated circuits in Bac Giang province, showing that manufacturing capacity in Vietnam is improving.
HIPT Group Chairman becomes major shareholder of Vinasun taxi
Mr. Le Hai Doan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of HIPT Group Corporation has just become a major shareholder of Vietnam Sun Joint Stock Company (Vinasun) when he bought more than 1.4 million VNS shares on December 13, increasing his ownership from 3.89% to 6.01% of capital (equivalent to 4.08 million shares).
Mr. Doan is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of HIPT Group, a company specializing in providing services on information security, technology infrastructure, software development, etc.
Currently, HIPT owns 2.3 million VNS shares (3.4%). Thus, the group of shareholders including Mr. Doan and HIPT holds 9.4% of Vinasun's capital.
Regarding business performance, in the first 9 months of 2024, Vinasun recorded VND 778 billion in revenue and VND 60 billion in net profit, down 17% and 52% respectively over the same period last year.
The taxi company said it has maintained its support policy for drivers and partners, leading to a decrease in profits. Compared to the annual plan, the company achieved 70% of its revenue target and 74% of its profit target.
GELEX becomes major shareholder at Vietnam Seafood Corporation
GELEX Group Joint Stock Company has just sent a report to the Securities Commission on the date of becoming a major shareholder, an investor holding 5% or more of shares at Vietnam Seafood Corporation.
Previously, on December 17, GELEX bought 5.9 million SEA shares of Vietnam Seafood Corporation.

Adjusting traffic in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, temporarily stopping road digging for New Year 2025
On December 20, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport announced traffic adjustment on Le Loi Street (District 1) to serve the organization of the Ho Chi Minh City Brass Band Festival in 2024 and the Puppetry Festival.
