According to information from the Ninh Binh Hydrometeorological Station, flood water on the Hoang Long River at Ben De and Gian Khau; the Day River in Ninh Binh is rising. The water level at 7:00 a.m. on September 11, 2024 at Ben De was 4.47 m (0.47 m above alert level 3), at Gian Khau 4.10 m (0.40 m above alert level 3); the Day River in Ninh Binh was 3.70 m (0.20 m above alert level 3).
Hundreds of households in Kenh Ga village, Gia Thinh commune, Gia Vien were flooded.
Forecast, in the next 12-24 hours: Water level on Hoang Long River at Ben De and Gian Khau continues to rise, after slow changes; this morning (September 11), flood peak at Ben De is likely to rise to 4.60-4.80 m (above alert level 3: 0.60-0.80 m); at Gian Khau to rise to 4.30-4.50 m (above alert level 3: 0.60-0.80 m).
On the Day River in Ninh Binh, the water level continues to rise; it is likely to peak at noon this afternoon (September 11, 2024), at 4.00-4.20 m (above alert level 3: 0.50-0.70 m).
Up to now, according to statistics, the number of houses flooded by floods on Hoang Long River is 1,005, concentrated in areas outside the dike. Of which, Gia Vien district has 444 houses flooded and isolated (402 houses flooded and 42 houses in Gia Hoa commune isolated) in the communes: Gia Thinh, Gia Tien, Gia Phong, Gia Hoa; 2 schools in Kenh Ga village, Gia Thinh commune were affected by flooding. In Nho Quan district, there are 561 houses flooded in the communes of Xich Tho, Gia Thuy, Lac Van, Gia Lam, Dong Phong.
In the coming days, the hydrometeorological agency warns of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, steep slopes, and communes in Nho Quan and Hoa Lu districts and Tam Diep city.
