According to information from the Ninh Binh Meteorological and Hydrological Station, floodwaters on the Hoang Long River at Ben De and Gian Khau, and the Day River in Ninh Binh are rising. At 7:00 AM on September 11, 2024, the water level at Ben De was 4.47 m (0.47 m above alarm level 3), at Gian Khau 4.10 m (0.40 m above alarm level 3); and on the Day River in Ninh Binh 3.70 m (0.20 m above alarm level 3).
Hundreds of households in Kenh Ga village, Gia Thinh commune, Gia Vien district were flooded.
Forecast for the next 12-24 hours: Water levels on the Hoang Long River at Ben De and Gian Khau will continue to rise, after a slow change; this morning (September 11th), the flood peak at Ben De is likely to reach 4.60-4.80 m (0.60-0.80 m above alarm level 3); at Gian Khau, it will reach 4.30-4.50 m (0.60-0.80 m above alarm level 3).
On the Day River in Ninh Binh, the water level continues to rise; it is likely to peak this afternoon (September 11, 2024) at 4.00-4.20 m (0.50-0.70 m above alarm level 3).
To date, according to statistics, 1,005 houses have been flooded due to the Hoàng Long River, mainly in areas outside the dike. Specifically, in Gia Viễn district, 444 houses were flooded and isolated (402 houses were flooded and 42 houses in Gia Hòa commune were isolated) in the communes of Gia Thịnh, Gia Tiến, Gia Phong, and Gia Hòa; two schools in Kênh Gà village, Gia Thịnh commune were also affected by flooding. In Nho Quan district, 561 houses were flooded in the communes of Xích Thổ, Gia Thủy, Lạc Vân, Gia Lâm, and Đồng Phong.
In the coming days, the meteorological and hydrological agency warns of flash floods and landslides in hilly areas, slopes, and communes in Nho Quan and Hoa Lu districts, and Tam Diep city.
