(To Quoc) - The 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VII) has come to its final days with many special activities, providing opportunities for exchange, experience sharing, and filmmaking cooperation among filmmakers. Many Vietnamese artists and actors have shared their feelings about this year's festival season.
Chairman of Vietnam Cinema Association, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Lenh Hung Tu: Film Festivals are increasingly organized professionally.
Closely participating in most of the activities of the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival, Associate Professor Dr. Do Lenh Hung Tu shared: This year's Hanoi International Film Festival has many new features compared to previous years due to the participation of professional event organizing companies.

The 7th Hanoi International Film Festival is being organized more and more professionally and impressively. Previously, we organized it ourselves with our available staff under available conditions. This was an effort but sometimes we could not show our full potential. This year's Hanoi International Film Festival has proven to be professionally organized from the decorations, red carpet program, sound... In my opinion, this is a right trend and needs to be even more professional.
Assessing the quality of this year's Film Festival, the Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association also said: With 117 films from many countries and territories participating, the topics are very rich with many film genres such as: romance, social psychology, action films, showing hidden corners, character circumstances... However, no matter how the world trend changes, cinema in general still revolves around those issues. The most important thing now, in Film Festivals, we evaluate and award works based on what your story is, how you tell it. Maybe the story is not new, but if your way of telling it is creative, people will still appreciate it. I hope that the Jury of the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival will hold the scales to choose quality works, affirming the position and brand of the Film Festival.
Director Trinh Dinh Le Minh: The position of Vietnamese cinema is increasingly enhanced.
Director Trinh Dinh Le Minh is a notable figure at the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival because his film "Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story" which was shown as the opening film is also the only film representing Vietnam to compete in the Feature Film category at the Film Festival.

The director shared: Attending the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival, the important thing is that I can introduce my work and hear comments not only from the jury but also from international friends and fellow filmmakers. Besides, I also have the opportunity to see many new and important works of world cinema, especially in the Feature Film category, so I take advantage of this opportunity and watch a lot of films.
Besides, after the screenings, I can meet the filmmakers. This is a great opportunity to exchange everything, to immerse myself in the cinematic atmosphere. The dense cinematic atmosphere is the most important thing at a Film Festival.
Sharing his impressions of this Film Festival, director Trinh Dinh Le Minh said: Young filmmakers may not yet know what their path is, the seminars at the Film Festival are like a path for them to start learning more about many things, from which they can plan their careers. The seminar with the theme "Developing film production exploiting historical themes and adapting literary works" is a very interesting topic, attracting the attention of the profession. For filmmakers, literary materials and literary adaptations are always very important. Cinema is stories and in the search for stories and ideas, literature is always an abundant source of material. Therefore, in order for these two industries to develop together, there needs to be synchronous development and cooperation.
The director of "Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story" also added: "The Hanoi International Film Festival is always an important part of the ecosystem including the film industry with films that are diverse in both subject matter and genre. The more prestigious international film festivals there are, the more the position of Vietnamese cinema will be enhanced. Because it will welcome many important international films, many famous filmmakers to Vietnam and that is also an opportunity to introduce new films, new faces, new voices of Vietnamese cinema to the international community."
Director Trinh Dinh Le Minh also hopes that in recent years, Vietnamese cinema has had a number of films that have won important awards, especially awards for debut films at the world's largest film festivals. In addition, many films have been released in regional markets, in Australia or the United States... But that is just the beginning, Vietnamese cinema needs to do more to make a stronger impression like the way Thai cinema has done to have a very clear mark in the region. Vietnamese cinema will need to take steps like that to catch up with Thailand and then gradually approach Korea.
Actress Anh Dao: If you want to go far, you have to go together
Actress Anh Dao entered the film industry quite late with her first role as Doan Thi Diem in the film Hong Ha Nu Si. The 7th Hanoi International Film Festival was also the first time the actress, born in 1997, participated. She could not hide her joy and honor at participating in a major film event, which was organized "magnificently and professionally".

"This is the first time Anh Dao has participated in the Hanoi International Film Festival and I am truly delighted, happy and honored. I was actually quite surprised because the Film Festival was organized on such a large, grand and professional scale," the actress shared.
"Vietnamese cinema is developing very quickly and strongly. Audiences are also increasingly accepting Vietnamese films, appreciating Vietnamese films more, which is the motivation and encouragement for Vietnamese actors and filmmakers. Hopefully, at the Hanoi International Film Festival, audiences will also go to the cinema to watch films, enthusiastically supporting Vietnamese films and Vietnamese cinema. The 7th Hanoi International Film Festival was professionally organized by a State agency like that, along with the attention of the audience and the efforts of filmmakers, these are good signs for the development and take-off of Vietnamese cinema. As we always say, if you want to go far, you have to go together" - said actress Anh Dao./.
