On November 22, speaking with VietNamNet, Mr. Le Dinh Tuan (42 years old, residing in Broong My village, Dak Mon commune, Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province) said that after 10 days of searching, on November 19, the family found his daughter Le Ho Thanh Mai (18 years old) in Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province.

According to Mr. Tuan, after Mai left home, the family searched many places, even asked the police to intervene, but still had no news. Through Mai's Facebook friends, the family discovered that Mai had recently met a group of people in Kien Giang, so they focused on verifying in this direction.

“From that clue, I texted and sent pictures of the child to the Facebook accounts of people Mai had just met to ask if they knew where the child was. On the other hand, I asked my brothers in Kien Giang to look for the owners of these Facebook accounts,” Mr. Tuan shared.

Later, Mr. Tuan was provided with information by these people that Mai appeared in Phu Quoc.

“Immediately after that, I asked an acquaintance to follow my daughter’s trail, and together with three relatives, I immediately drove from Kon Tum to Ho Chi Minh City to buy plane tickets to Phu Quoc. However, because we couldn’t buy tickets, we drove straight to Rach Gia (Kien Giang) and then took a speedboat to the island,” Mr. Tuan recounted his journey to pick up his daughter.

According to Mr. Tuan, when he arrived at the house of his friend where his daughter was staying in An Thoi ward (Phu Quoc city), the whole group was hanging out and had to ask her family to call her back. Knowing that her family was coming to pick her up, she still wanted to stay and play, but after being encouraged and pressured, she finally agreed.

Talking about the reason his daughter ran away from home in the middle of the night, Mr. Tuan said: “She said she wanted to go out with friends but was afraid her parents wouldn’t let her so she ran away. She knew her parents were worried but didn’t dare call home for fear of being scolded.”

According to Mr. Tuan, the family has welcomed Mai back. She eats and lives normally, is mentally stable, and shows no signs of abnormality.

As VietNamNet reported, at around 11:30 p.m. on November 9, when everyone was fast asleep, Le Ho Thanh Mai quietly left home, causing her family to be extremely worried and afraid that she would be harmed, lured, or taken abroad by a bad guy.
