In the coming time, the province will focus on seeking and calling for potential investors to invest in the service and tourism sectors to promote Ly Son to become a sea and island tourism center in the spirit of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
Reporting at the meeting, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Ly Son district Pham Thi Huong said that in the period of 2020-2025, the average growth rate of production value in the district is estimated at 5.4%/year. Of which, the economic structure of the trade-service sector accounts for 44.2%; agriculture, forestry and fishery accounts for 42.78%; industry-construction accounts for 13.2%.
Notably, the tourism sector has received special attention from the district, mobilizing investment funds to repair and upgrade many traffic routes connecting to tourist destinations and historical and cultural relics. Tourism propaganda, promotion and advertising have been innovated in many forms. Thanks to that, tourism has been restored and has improved. In 2024, the total number of visitors will reach 181,000, an increase of 10,000 compared to 2023.
The district currently has 6 national relics, 2 national intangible cultural heritages; 19 provincial relics; 4 travel businesses; 118 tourist accommodation service businesses; 5 means of transport on the Ly Son-Sa Ky route and vice versa; 15 vehicles on the Big Island-Small Island route.
“Many potentials and strengths of Ly Son island district have not been exploited and promoted effectively, especially the types of services are still lacking and simple, not meeting the needs of tourists; attracting investment in tourism development is still very limited, tourism products are diverse but not complete, and their attractiveness is not high,” said Chairwoman of Ly Son District People's Committee Pham Thi Huong.

According to Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang, Ly Son island district has a lot of potential and room for economic development, especially tourism development potential.
“Ly Son has beautiful natural beaches with clear blue water. Volcanic lava flows create a system of caves, stone bridges, and majestic, poetic cliffs. Along with that, the rich culture dating back 3,000 years is a great potential for Ly Son to develop tourism into a key economic sector,” said comrade Nguyen Hoang Giang.

The wild beauty of Be Island (Ly Son). |
“With the Central Government’s resolutions and the province’s development strategy, especially the search for and attraction of strategic investors, in the future, Ly Son Island will certainly be an attractive tourist destination for domestic and international visitors,” Comrade Nguyen Hoang Giang believes.
The head of the provincial People's Committee suggested that district leaders should thoroughly educate cadres, party members and people to identify the main goal of tourism and service development as generating revenue and improving the material and spiritual life of the people. Therefore, the awareness of building Ly Son according to the criteria of green, clean and friendly is very important when tourism develops strongly.
