It is a complex process, requiring all three factors: economic, social and environmental, so it requires the cooperation of many organizations and units from the State, enterprises to social organizations and people to participate.

"Sustainable growth always goes hand in hand with efficient use of natural resources and effective business development. The application of technology, digital transformation, and innovative solutions will solve the problems of sustainable development along with the State's support policies. The Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City looks forward to receiving comments, suggestions, and proposals from experts and scientists to contribute to the common development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country," Ms. Phan Thi Quy Truc shared.

According to Dr. Tran Thanh Tam, Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology and External Relations, University of Natural Resources and Environment, today's changes have created great challenges for Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular such as: Environmental pollution, climate change and rising sea levels, resource exploitation, overloaded infrastructure and traffic... In particular, the challenge that Ho Chi Minh City needs to solve is environmental pollution because the air, water, and soil are heavily polluted by industrial activities, traffic and daily life; traffic congestion because the transportation system cannot meet the increasing travel needs of the people... increasingly affecting the lives and production of the people.

“Some solutions for sustainable development include: Transforming the growth model (based on resource exploitation to green, sustainable growth); investing in infrastructure (upgrading public transport systems, wastewater and waste treatment); developing smart cities (applying technology to urban management); developing human resources (improving the quality of highly qualified human resources to meet the requirements of the modern economy)….”, Dr. Tran Thanh Tam proposed.
